Ok, looked on a couple other posts here about downloading issues and the only solution I saw was to quit the downloader and keep reloading it. Well for me that doesn't seem to help. I started downloading yesterday about 5pm and am still downloading today.

I am downloading everything else fine accept for EQII patches. My connection is 16955 kbps according to my latest check at speak easy. Since I see that other people are having problems, I know for sure it has to do with Sony/EQ II.

Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

It was a toss up between starting this back up or WoW. If I can't get this thing downloaded in the next hour I am calling Sony and getting a refund...

Wow, these boards are dead. Maybe this is an indication of how EQII is inside the game now.  Been an hour, calling up SOE for a refund.

Goodluck to all.

Or perhaps we are all in game playing rather than surfing the boards?  You waited 1 whole hour for a response then declare it to be dead? Enjoy WOW, I think you'll fit in there better.

Wow, you two think very highly of yourselves. I cancelled the subscription shortly after posting the message but let it continue to download (for ****s and giggles). Took another two hours and when I got in game it crashed on me. After tons of troubleshooting it was determined that the download was corrupt.

Oh btw, I may have just waited for one hour for people like you to respond (which actually you didn't respond till two hours later and the other guy not till the next day) but you forget that I had been dealing with this problem for over 26 hours at the time of the post. I also waited in a queue of ONE (yes, I was the only one in queue) for 35 min on support chat and no one got on the chat. I waited a total (between all the calls) 2 hours for people to pick up. I even tried to get on the chat thing on EQ II but it was being moderated (as it always was even back when I played a year ago).

I can say I came out good though because now I don't have to deal with people like you in the game. What few people there are might be as angry as you two. Now I just have to call up and get a refund.

I said it once, now I will say it a little differently... Have a good day, jerks.

I've been downloading for about an hour, and my estimated time is around 10 hours. System specs: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ 2 GB Dual-channel 800 Mhz. RAM 250 GB Seagate SATA HDD Vista Home Premium I have tried restarting the downloader and making a shortcut on the desktop.  Any help or tips are appreciated. To Pyro: You should have tried the free trial. Your statement about getting a refund from Sony suggests you purchased it online.  Going to any Gamestop store would have saved you $16.

Pyro: Since you bought the Digital Download, you are downloading around 5-7 gigabytes for the game, which can take a long time. Anyways, its dinner time and people are eating, at work, or playing and the forums are generally more busy during work hours.

Plus: Stoney and willnot: Its not nice to do that to people, I'd be frusterated too if I had to download somthing for 26 hours... especially if I did not know that it was meant to take that long

Yusdan: What are you downloading exactly?

I apologize.  The patches.

No need to apologise... I don't bite... hard =D

Is this a trial, an older version of the game, or echoes of faydwer?

Let's not post angry folks. Downloading a MMO without the disks chews up quite a bit of time and we all know it. Getting angry with other players about the functions of a patcher that they can't control isn't polite. Neither is jumping a new friend who's feeling grumpy. We can have this conversation politely!

Old version I believe.  The "classic edition" of EQ2.  I have had success with stopping another download on my network I was unaware was running, which puts the total patch time around 3 hours, which is something I can live with. I do thank you for offering your assistance.  If you think 3 hours is abnormal or if there is a way to speed it up, I wouldn't mind knowing. xD

If you are downloading the EQ2 classic that came out in 04 then its probabbly going to take three hours... (Lots o updates since then)

Have fun in Norrath!

If anyone else needs help, look me up on the unrest server.

I apologize Grimwell.  I will say that I reacted the way I did due to the way he approached us.  As you know I do help out here when I can. I will also say that I can understand why some threads are not readily answered by TSRs based on the way things are posted.

I am sorry if I came off with a strong approach. I was angry with the whole situation and was not angry and either of you two.

I used to play the game back when it first game out. Played all the way till Desert of Flames when they majorly redid all player types and I didn't like the changes. I came back with Kingdom of Sky but wasn't in a situation to keep playing for long periods of time so I cancelled again after about a month. This time I had more time to play the game so wanted to check it out again.

EQII, Desert of Flames, and Kingdom of Sky were installed before I started the launcher and updated. So with those two expansions already installed it still took 26+ hours.
