Well two really, anyway...

1] Requiem of Reflecton. I have never used this and the description of the ability is head scratchingly vague. What exactly does it do? Are there any situations where this spell rocks?

2] Guviena's thingy. Is there a real point to this ability? The damage is extremely low and I can do far more with a single autoattack shot from my Raincaller bow. Am I missing something?

Ty for help!

1) Requiem works like dirge's Percussion of Stone in that whenever a group member is hit with magical damage of any kind, it has a chance to proc stoneskin that will absorb completely the next magical attack on that ally. So if you were hit with a DoT, and it proc'ed off the first tick, the next tick would be completely absorbed. There are some instances where it can be useful, however I never use it beacuse I think my group would benefit from other buffs more.

2) Guviena's is just another ranged attack. Yeah the damage might be low, but look at Sandra's its pretty much the same story. I can autoattack with Grinning Dirk of Horror for 1k+, so using a 300-550 damage ability might seem useless, but its extra damage you can throw in between autoattacks.

1. requiem - mostly useless, except for mobs which have group wide dots or aoe - and even then its iffy.  Basically, when a group member is damaged, theres a low (12% at adept 3) chance for it to proc, once its procs - the next profession ability is reflected, while the next incoming spell damage is absorbed (think stoneskin.) .2 Guviena is used to stifle, its great against caster mobs SMILEY

This is coming from a casual non-raiding player if that matters any I can say I never used the requiem as my normal group can benefit much better from other buffs, power regen, haste, shoot even the defense buff is more usefull to me then requiem. That and dove song are the two buffs I have yet to see a use for. As far as Guviena goes I use it for the stifle effect to give tank a few seconds of protection against cast. As far as dmg goes I am normally end up going a support role ,heavy mezzer, in my groups so my dmg is often lower then even the groups paladin.

actually dove song can be quite usefull if your mages gettin alot of resists, but besides that its useless, and the only use for RoR is on mobs with multiple aoes/groupwide dots, else its just another waste of a conc slot, if only it didnt take a conc slot sigh

You obviously never reflected PT or fusion, or ice nova, or apocalypse or...

You get the idea. Magical Stoneskin rocks for PvP

The best use for RoR is to have it sit in your hotbar and laugh at it every now and again... Perhaps it's of use on PvP.

Never leave home without RoR up. Magical stoneskin FTW! 3 times tonight RoR saved my bacon.

Your stoneskin has absorbed 8823 point of damage

Your stoneskin has absorbed 4215 points of damage

Also reflected PT back at an SK. Love it.

As for PvE... RoR is very situational. very few encounters where i would run it.

Is there a way to do magic dmg to yourself so the next attack is absorbed?  Like drinking poison or something.

unless its been nerfed, you could trigger requiem by manastone and manastone 2.0, so it might be that any incoming magic damage has a chance to proc it. overflowing vessel was preferred of course, since it was a dot. dunno though, so rarely use it that i could be mistaken.

Depends who I'm fighting. But due to the overwhelmingly huge number of swashbucklers and rangers, I usually run:

Dove Song (helps to actually land those spells... still have a huge resist rate though) Raxxyl's (300 more hitpoints is always good, as is more STR. Swap this out for Quirrons on longer fights) Daelis' (+INT, +AGI, and a 20% damage sheild. what's not to like) Balletic (+25 defense... Never yet had a ranger actually miss me, and swashies hit you again anyways... but what else is worth it against scouts?) Aria (Drop this if mez lands. Debuff, then put it back up. Alot of troubs don't bother using it in PvP, but i like the extra damage)

If i see a caster I pop reverie and then switch in RoR or a resist buff instead of balletic.

EDIT to add: I have roughly 390 parry and 380 defense... swashies seem to miss me enough to trigger copious ammounts of En Garde procs, yet Rangers don't miss... ever. Self buffed HP is between 7k and 7.8k depending on gear. Resists between 2k and 9k, again depending on gear, usually run with all resists around the 4-5k mark.

IIRC, aria procs from mez hit before the mez, so the proc would not stop the mez from landing.  However, if you are mezzing and then debuffing, each debuff will have its own opportunity to proc, and thereby break your mezz even though the underlying debuff (with no damage component--think snare) would not on its own break mez.

With respect to Guviena's stifle and cheap shot stun etc... [Removed for Content] do they not work on Epics?  Other classes stuns / stifles just work for shorter duration and the epic gains an immunity.  Ours?  just low damage with no effect... still agree that the low damage is better than autoattack alone so I will toss it in when ranged (plus it has proc chance as well).

Happy hunting,

Yup I can confirm that.

And your point is?

You can click the buff off while you debuff. Once done debuffing, you put it back on, then jester's cap, PotM, break mez with stiffle and go to town. This is par for the course as far as killing swashbucklers goes.

or for the people that actually bothered to increase our damage by gettin as many proc items as they could lay their hands off, just dont debuff since it aint worth the time taking those proc items off, and just do the usual mez/snare/nuke or if you might end up in a tight spot, mez/nuke

Yeah sure, I use proc items in PvE as well. In PvP however it's not worth it. It's all about the resists, and defense. You only get 6-8k hitpoints, you need to preserve them as long as you can, especially since we cant just burn most classes down in 3 seconds flat like the other scouts.

For PvP, you MUST debuff... but you also have to have enough damage afterwards to kill your target, otherwise you may as well not bother debuffing. Click Aria off, debuff, put it back on, kill. Simple.
