![]() Hi, I'm Blyght and I am an Alt-oholic, Before Evercrack (i am still relatively new), I played World of Wierdos and I got a mage to 61, a Druid(resto speced) to 54 and a Warrior till 56. I just wanted to know if there are any classes that are relatively close to these three in EQ2. I know the whole "play it to 20" gambit, but I dont have that much time to dedicate to a game, (i played WoW for 3 years, and im a slow leveler). To help narrow stuff down: I like pvp, i like to heal, tank or dps, and because of my schedule i would probably like something a little more solo friendly (even though i love groups), and i hope to raid if i ever get to cap. Oh and please tell me that EQ2 raids arent like WoW's (i only liked the 24 man raids, not the long [Removed for Content] 4-6 hour ones) cause i would not like that |

Before I quite, I had a lvl 50 berserker, that was after launch, I came back a few times but quite again, Now I am back and this game is the roXersmYboxers so, I'm staying. I tried about 14 classes up to 13 and ditched em all, except.... NECROMANCER! NECROMANCER for me is awesome, never had to much fun, and now I'm the pwner, the end. True story, honest. Necromancer can DPS really well, high end though is really when Necromancer comes to life! Fury's can heal/dps pretty good. Necromancers are very good solo [PVE] but good group [PVP]. Ranger/Assassin class are extreme DPS'ers and can really [F] you up if they get the jump on you. Wizard can pretty much destroy any class PVP in 3 shots or less. But all classes are getting nerfed soon, heres the link to the announcement and what SOE is planning on going: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=365950

Alright cool thanks, i guess i will try a nec i tried an assassin but its solability was teribble and i played a bit at launch with a ranger and soloablity wasnt much better. Dont like the idea of the fury b/c any healing class that can nuke like a wizard is due for some nerfs soon but maybe a wizard i will try |

Hey. Raid in EQ2 is with maximum of 24 players, and will often vary between 30 mins and 3-4 hours. Some may use longer time, but I think the casual time for a raid is 3 hours (some makes multiple raid zones in that time, other just make one). Personally I like the time frame on raids in this game, it can be real fast if the raid know the zone and are a well balanced setup. And in the other end, it will not take forever to finish.

Well, I don't know much about PvP in EQII.... but apart from that I love to play my monk. They are not to bad in solo, work nice in groups... and with their gi-sets they are the most sexy around <- j/k I heard (not sure though) that their evil counterpart the bruiser does very wel in PvP.

About the monk thing. I know that, i have a bruiser He is fun to play in groups and pvp and solo but he is really simple to play. I want something that isnt buttonmashing like the bruiser.

Im Ashley and Im an alto-holic too... my problem is which race to be... Ive got a fae mystic that Im loving right now. Going to try Illusionist... and probly a necro... I just dont care for the zombie pets... So... I have a gnome model I sorta like... Halflings make me feel like a pedo. lol Dark Elves are rather common it seems. Arasai girls have ugly wings... and I dont really want to play any of the furry/scaley races...

swashbucklers and brigands solo respectably, and do nice dps. yes, im biased, i play a swash. its all about giving a couple classes a bit of time to flesh out, and see how you like it, even if it takes several months (like me. highest level is 32 and ive been playing for since august)

Its a class that takes some skill to master, and it wont hold your hand very much. but once you get into them plate lifetapping sabatons, you'll just love the class to death. ![]() |

I am in the same boat with Ash. I have a 33 dirge, a 22 ranger and a conjurer amd LOTS of lvl 10-20 alts ([Removed for Content] you station pass), and i just cant pick a main. Trouble is not the class, it is the race, as i would really like to start a Swashbuckler and stick with it, but after trying 3 different races for it i am still in the dark about what race to pick... Fae/Arasai have the best racials by far but just look wrong for a swashie with their wings fluttering around. Ratonga look rather neat but have a verry limited and highly irritating combat voice choices (in other words they sound rather stupid during fights) Wood elves females look perfect for the part but i just cant seem to get into that entire gender-bender thing. The male model looks like it has a bad case of small pox. Humans are plain ugly. High elves look too prissy. Barbarians as swashbucklers? I dont think so... Half elves have the terrible plastic hairstyles that i cant stand. Halflings all look exactly the same no matter what i try to do with customisation. Gnomes look too old and decripit. Kerra are just plain boring. Dark elves look ridiculous with their pointy faces and obligatory white eybrows. Trolls are about as ugly as Ogres. Erudites have about 0 rougishnes inside them. You see my predicament?

All of the ratonga voice emotes are... lacking. And I will pass on the frog... i am not all that keen on jumpimg around pretending to be a cheap Kermit look-alike.

Yah alright makes sense. Ha i am always listening to music when i play so i dont really listen to the emotes. But i also have your problem with the trans-gender thing. I just cant play a female character even if they do fit the part

Im not using those soga (or whatever theyre called) models, as they are really really really hideous... but I took a D-elf and made a SK, and then went back out and tried to make the claymation version half-way pretty... Gnomes and Halflings no matter what you do to them have the misfortune of being old and decrepit or "beaten with an ugly-stick" no matter what you do to them. Hi elves and half elves arent any better, half-elves have that Rogue (x-men) hairstyle that I like but it looks like plastic as already mentioned. If they change the models around, I hope they add that one to the non-claymation models. I may give an Arasai coercer a try, didnt really care for necro, conjurer or illusionist. heh So far I like pally/sk, mystic and templar/inquisitor... D-elves in plate mail are sexy. hehe

There were 24 man raids at 60. One is called Zal.... something i cant remeber. It was shorter, we could get through it pretty fast and i had fun with it. The forty man raids were just way to fuckin long. so i hated them. Didnt want to dedicate that much time to a game, especially when i have a life to attend to. But i was a pvp maniac. Top 3 in every AV run i did and i was an untwinked horde too. Yah i love the necro, im lvl 14 i think. I just need a spell caster and a break from my Bruiser (39)

I second the vote on ShadowKnights, they're the best, or second best (depends what you're fighting) soloers in the game. The Necromancer is awesome against a single big mob (Blue+ ^^^ Heroics arn't uncommon), but adds eat them alive The ShadowKnight (Think 2/3 Necro 1/3 Zerker) is unrivaled against multiple mobs at once (I can do a pull of 10 or 11 Green no arrow mobs and survive) and isn't too bad on a single target (though anything that hits much harder than 800 or 900 damage is pushing it) All the classes button-mash when they solo to some extent. The tricky part is grouping, and knowing what spells to use and not use. (As a ShadowKnight a big one to watch is Death March, which will almost always pull all currently engaged mobs onto you.) When you're raiding the rules get even more limited, but that varies based on the zone, the guild and the raid itself.

PvP, tracking and evac = better survivability if solo. Nerf-bat's swinging wide for the next update, and general opinion is that Wardens will become the apex predator of Norrath, replacing Swashies.
