Ok I am currently at 113/290, and tbh this tskill is a pain in the [Removed for Content] but i guess i should of expected that. My question is Is there any upgrades to your transmuting tskill spells or are you SOL with using level 1 spells to try and grind up the ladder?

I'm not sure what you're asking.

If by "skill spells" you mean recipes, then yes, you can buy books of transmuting recipes from NPCs as well as on the broker.

If by "skill spells" you mean tradeskill arts, then I know of no way to upgrade those.  I am still using the ones I bought for 20 silver each from the transmuting trainer.

If you mean something else, you might want to rephrase the question.

The cost to use them scales according to your power pool.  As far as I know, there are no additional spells.  None needed, as there is nothing to counter.  Patience, and use of the zero power-cost versions, will make you pop 'pristine-type' returns.

That, and lots of coin. SMILEY

so are you trying to say don't use the counters? If that is what this profession is suppose to be like why bother even selling level 1 spells for it

Use the counters.  You only get the 4 initial ones you can purchase from the transmuting trainer.  Unfortunately, there are no upgrades to them.

^^^^^^  What he said.  If you get a stage 1 completion, or a stage 4 completion, the difference is in the number of shards returned to you upon completion.  At higher levels, that adds up fast.

SMILEY I am still at a measly lvl  3 transmuting; because I am having no luck killing stuff for the drop items. Should I be using my main toon to kill low lvl gray stuff (makes me feel bad clearing out noob area)? Should I create an alt and then cap the xp to say lvl 10 to kill stuff in the noob area? Just wondering which method is best for getting the best chance of items to drop for transmuting. Thanks.

Lots of folks, myself included, level-lock a character on the Isle.  Although I avocate harvesting for rares rather than monopolizing the named mobs.

Calthine has a very solid strategy there.  Harvesting and transmuting the finished rare will ding you up for the first 100 points.  Rares pop off of the newbie sections at an alarming rate.  You could even skill an alt up to the mid teens just doing that, and continue along when you're ready to move up to the next tier in harvesting-tradeskilling-transmuting.

You can even transmute all the way to 350 on nothing but T1 rare harvests and drops.

Well to the OP, I have been doing this (harvesting AND killing, and while rares are easier on the island i net about 6 an hour tops, not stellar when u need thousands to transmute if not more) for about 6-7 weeks, and am at 163/350.

So while I expect it will work, it is more painful than gouging your own eyes out with knitting needles.

I graduated to an XP locked conj in Rov killing everything for drops, that isn't going too well either.

There are no upgrades, and you don't need them they matter little anyway, best of luck.

The same four spells that you buy at the beginning of transmuting are used all the way to 350/350. There are no upgrades as of yet.
