I'd say its a high priority due to free transfers for pvp servers atm, so should be up rather fast. SMILEY

Hopefully it is fixed fast but I wouldn't hold my breath. There's some pretty hardcore bugs going on with these transfers... mainly the item duping, but also there has been some other pretty funky stuff going on with my character. Like, I recieved mail when I transfered and expected it to be some plat spam or something, only to find a guild letter sent out by the leader of a guild I was in like 3 months ago... wierd... some other minor wierd things happened as well but nothing game breaking or even worth /petitioning really.

I'm no programmer but I'll bet this duping bug is a real pita and frustrating to try and figure out and fix... I wouldn't wanna have to do it. But yes, I'm sure people are working around the clock to get this fixed and hopefully it will be done soon. Pretty rough launch of these free transfers SMILEY

I wouldn't worry too much. A PITA I know, but Grimwell did say that the 'free week' would be extended to make up for the transfer service downtime SMILEY

Yeah I've been so excited about the free account to account character transfers I'm thinking about getting a third one up and running so I can dump a couple of my extra lvl 70's onto that one and be able to mix and match.

This is the lamest reason to put a hold on transfer's. I know the bug they speak of, I have tranfered from ld, to ab to kith and only thing that was duped each time I moved was my stupid quiver....gimmie a break, thats what is stopping us from transfers....so lame.

Yeah that's the only thing that got duped for me as well. A quiver.

But if they gave an ETA (estimated time of arrival) & for some reason missed it .....

Well, just look at the thread, on this forum, of people telling SOE to quit giving us "estimates" of when the servers will come back up.

Like I said in that thread, SOE can't win for losing, because no matter what they do, somebody somewhere is going to cry about it.

Useless whine.  More was being duped than quivers.

Take some initiative and do some research.  From Grim on the Dev forum:
As to the ETA question: ASAP. It is a high priority item and as soon as it is completed, tested, and validated it's going to be a hotfix. No, not ideal - but I'd rather not lie and say "3:00 PM PDT" or "This evening" when in truth it is "As fast as possible, but yes they are going to stop for lunch." SMILEY

as many forums I searched looking for an answer must've missed it... wonder why an answer like that would be there and not something like Community News or Gameplay Discussion or Official News and Announcements (the same place where the suspension was listed)... yet another smudge on SOEs tarnished customer service... some of us do take the time and troll the forums for answers, lol... it would just be nicer if the answers were moved to more appropriate forums the way the devs move our posts...

also, the dev tracker at the top of the forum's home page will give you every post by a red name. if you are going to look for an official answer, you might want to consider looking there before anything, since many times a dev posts an answer in the thread that asks the question or brings up the topic.

NO.  That quote was not on the eq2 players main pageSMILEY

Tankoo... pleezcummahgin..

Sorry, really not trying to be rude... but that quote was not taken off of the eq2 players main page... where a statement like this should have been...

which is my point...

for intstance...

Subject: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=359858 in the Official News and Announcements Forums

Subject: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=358291 in the Development Corner (where the post is found)

Subject: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=283523 in the Customer Service Announcements (which wasn't even posted this year)

All concern the halt of character transfers... honestly now, a kindergarden question:

"In what forum should news like that be posted?"

Provided everything goes well and no new bugs are discovered during internal testing, the servers will be brought down for a hotfix during the morning of May 3rd. The hotfix will absolve the dupe bug that was happening to some characters when they transfer, and we will continue with the free character transfers shortly thereafter. Click on that 'Read More...' link for full details.

Yup, unless Uncle Murphy has new tricks up his sleeve, the hotfix is in the morning tomorrow, and then we get the parade going again. As to when/where I reply - I do what I can to be accurate and prompt. SMILEY

Are we getting an extra day or two added to the transfer week?

First off, thank you for responding... I do understand that you guys are busy...

My point, and I guess question, is why is information like this not posted by devs in places that would make sense... I understand answering questions inside of posts outside of a more likely forum.  Why do us as consumers have to search several different places for one answer.  The Character Transfer is not the only situation that it happens... but to use it as an example:

Why would the notice of the Free Character Transfers as well as the Suspension of the Free Character Transfers be placed in The Official News & Announcements and then the Character Transfer FAQs be placed in the Development Corner?  Isn't there more and better likely AND RELEVANT  places for such a post?

Another point I would like to make, is if SOE and EQ2 care so much about Customer Service... why hasn't there been a Customer Service Announcement since 10/19/06???????

There have been MULTIPLE times announcements could be made in more RELEVANT places.  This would help so much with customer service, customer retention, and then maybe... just maybe stop the HUNDREDS, probably THOUSANDS from complaining about Customer Service.  Sure, ppl will always complain about something... BUT WHY GIVE THEM REASONS!  The BIGGEST complaint that I have seen in these forums, outside of "why is my class so weak" threads,  is that there isn't enough communication and Customer Service on SOEs part... as paid subscribers we are not well informed, which in turn leads to frustration, which in turn leads to derogatory posts about Customer Service.

From a sales and customer service point of view, one upset client can take 10 potential clents from you easier then 1 happy client can bring 10 new ones.  All the community is asking for and has asked for to no avail is to be informed.  Whether its about the Transfers, about Server Down Times, Haste stacks, or the lore behind why Paladin's are so "fruity"SMILEY

Thanks
