So I've been looking at LOTR online and I'm blown away by the music composing that bards can do. I mean, that's what I've been wanting out of EQ2 since launch!!! The ability for bards to stand around and create their very own music would simply 'Rock' the EQ2 community. I can imagine certain guilds forming bands and playing concerts, it would just be incredible.

Check out this Video, it shows how the keyboard is used to compose music in the LOTR MMO. It'd be awesome is EQ2 did this in a future update.

So again, I implore the devs to add a music composition factor for bards in a future expansion. The community would love you to death for it!

Wow, that is impressive.  I didnt know that it was like that in LOTRO. I do hope that some elements from other mmogs make their way to everquest.  another thing i like is how easy it is shown that housing stuff can be placed in vanguard. You got me interested in their capabilities there and i found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVPp...ted&search=

It's actually not just a bard (minstrel) thing. Every single player can play music. Just non-minstrel classes are restricted in what instruments they can play. I absolutely love this feature. SMILEY

That was the one feature of LOTR that enthralled me. I LOVED it.

That would be a fantastic way to bring those long lost instruments back to EQ2 .

Wow.. Just wow, we REALLY need that system, ASAP!

Which directly makes me spin away on class-based instruments.. Like Monks going asian style.. Swashies going "Yo-ho-ho!!" and whatnot..

Freeeeedom!!

No seriously, I'd kill someone for this to be added. Anyone, just name it.

I'd also sell my soul and bake HORDES of cookies for the whole dev team.

Which brings me to another question.. Is there somewhere you can send gifts to the devs?

OMG! That is one of the coolest things i hav ever seen in an MMO. Ive recently taken an interest in roleplaying and i think this would be Prefect for role playing! If they add this i will be amazed. There is obviously instruments in the new update, has ayone played them? Is it anything like this?

As a bard I wouldn't have the words to describe how awesome this would be. Sony if you would be up to the challenge I would personally underwrite the entire cost of making this happen. I'm serious! Contact me via email and we can work out the details. =)

That isn't to hard to code into the game. Anyone have a soundcard with a program with a playable piano on screen like soundblaster that you can hit the keys on the keyboard and it will play a note with the corresponding key on a piano on screen, thats the same thing. It be alot of fun making your own music in game.

You think the instruments in GU#35 will be used like this?

Somehow, I just doubt SOE will be that awesome... From what I hear, the instruments in the test server don't do anything at all right now. The devs are supposedly planning on making it so that people can play pre-made songs or something. It's not going to be nearly as awesome as this...
