Death March ?

What is the deal with this spell, is there a hate proc associated with it that is not listed? Sorry for the newb question, i just started playing again at lvl 55 after a year off! THX in advanced

The spell doesnt say but every time it procs and or casted it pulls major agro, nothing says how much or when its just what iv noticed incombat. Great for snap agro and to save the tank or your self, pulls agro to you but your healers will cast there heals alot faster.

It's like an AE rescue. It works great. Best agro management spell ever. The damage bonus boost is just a side effect.

Unless you've done nothing the intire fight, or the tank has some serious aggro control, you -will- become the tank. some one feel free to correct me if im wrong on this,but. The reason it generates so much aggro for us,is under the mechanic of an incombat buff [any one ever buff durring a pull? you know what i mean] theres also no doubt some kind of hidden hate attached to it, which is just wonderful. Spamming death march in loa while fighting the last name was a great way to maintain aggro. point in case, macro the sucker so every one knows your about to drop the hammer,and so your mages can try to control their glee and delight.

IMO, they toned this down a LOT since the original agro increase, when we first noticed it. Either that, or the combination of EOF items with hate increasing mods...is very noticable on my tanks.

Yeah, it was 100% aggro when they first revamped the spell, now i often can't even pull the aggro back from a bruiser using knockout-combination with it.

You need to damage all the mobs first btw before using DM to get the agro increase. Test it and you'll see. I usually hit unending misery to get damage going on all the mobs around me THEN use DM. if you stand back and do no damage and use DM most of the time you will get NO agro from it. Some form of damage has to be done first or you will stay at the bottom of the hate list. For single targets throw Coil on the mob then use DM then start your ho's and spell chains to lock him on you.

I believe the snap agro is because your buffing entire group mid combat. Not only buffing multiple people but also buffing several stats (int, dps, casting speed, ect.)

I have to echo what others have said; something has changed because it does not work as well now.  Lastnight was hanging with couple guildies.. myself, templar and monk. We hit a named and I initially had agro.. monk ripped agro from me (like freaking usual)... I HTed followed with DM to snap back and zip happen.  I had to use incinerate to grab it back. (truthfully I didnt have to regrab the agro was just my ego being bruised when he stole it hehe.... what a waste of incinerate)

Yeah you have to have something to put you on the hate list damage or healing before using it or your wasting it if your using it as a agro tool

Ok, that clears some things up. So its use is limitied if you want to precast it before you pull mobs that maybe charm or fear or whatever.

LOve Death March Not only is it great for Insta Crowd control  and Heavy Quick dmg on AoE and direct dmg. but has a tendency to save the group .. Only down fall is if your not MT most healers will ignore you even tho their spells are going faster and all of sudden the MT is no longer dieing.. Even created a MAcro stateing Calling march of Death yada yada about to Die heal me please.. 90% the healers still let you die. seems most get to hung up in sitti drinking coffee with 1 hand on heal button MT targeted and the other hand playing footsy.. Only Down fall if not MT  and not in Good group its a death sentence.

If you view the spell info you'll also see it uses the Agression skill which is how good you are at taunting. It is a great spell, I use it everytime its up (unless I'm not supposed to be getting agro) and I have it down to min recast with SK AAs and the STR line recast decreaser in Crusader AAs.

It can be used like this but only after you've done something to get on the hate list. If its a easy pull use a bow, HT or coil or Pull with Despoil then run back to camp and pop it right away. 8 out of 10 times you will get what your trying to do with it before they can get their status effect on you. HT or Despoil is what I normally use since both can be used while running and despoil you can start the cast just in range and be running away and still have it go off giving you extra time. not to mention Despoil is great for pulling around corners Peak in target start the cast and run to a corner before it finishes. It will still land pull the mob(s) and you can pop DM just before they get to you.

I almost always use my two big AOE dots before I hit Dm, and try to save it for those "oh C r  @ P " moments.  love this spell. highly recomend master  ASAP on this one.
