You need to put a space between "  Right now, it's looking for a tag called "

Any suggestions on what I can do to make my siggy better? This is my first attempt of using [Removed for Content], outside of simple recolors for The Sims 2 furniture SMILEY

Not too bad, Nat...  Since you asked, here's my opinion.  SMILEY

There isn't much difference between your character shot and the background.  Adding a drop-shadow to him or fading the background would help that, and it would also mean you don't have to go through such drastic measures to make your text stand out.  SMILEY

The text is a little hard to read, mostly since there's so much of it and it's scrunched to fit into a narrow area, but the coloration (white with white glow; black and white blobs with black outline) doesn't help much, either.  Because of the placement of your name, class, guild, and server, they almost seem to have been added as an afterthought, and are therefore incongruous with the rest of the sig.  I know that you put the red drop shadow / glow behind the custom text to make it stand out more, but it almost looks like the text got stabbed and is now bleeding to death all over the poor dragon in the background.  ;-D

Be careful of your punctuation and capitalization...people will be much more likely to take you and your character seriously if your text is spot-on.  (No lie, and I'm not saying that to be mean...I've seen some otherwise awesome sigs that totally fell flat for me because of a misspelled word or a skipped apostrophe.  But maybe that's just me and my OCD talking, LOL.)

All in all, no, it's not bad for a quicky.  SMILEY  As I've said before, though: Don't be afraid to play!  You'll be surprised at what you can do if you remember that it's just a computer program; you can't break it by asking it to do what it was designed to do.  SMILEY

Yay, free graphics tips for whoever wants them!  LOL

IMO / IME, these are the things most important in a sig, from hightest priority (stands out the most) to lowest (least noticeable):

  1. Character bust (usually from the bottom center of the collarbone to the top of the head)
  2. Name (usually just first and last; "Knight Captain Seamus O'Flannery, Bestower of Keenness and Supreme High Ruler of the Universe" sounds great, but let's be realistic...it won't look great on a sig, especially when you want all this other stuff on it as well...)
  3. Guild name
  4. Class[es]
  5. Server
  6. Custom text (if any; i.e., a favorite quote or your character's catch phrase)
  7. Frame (if any, although it's usually recommended)
  8. Background image (if any)
  9. Background text (if any)
  10. Background pattern or gradient (if any)
  11. Background solid color

Because so many elements can go into a sig image, there are often subtle variations that determine where any given element falls in this heirarchy.  Not all sigs demand the same structure, so there are inevitably times when these guidelines are tossed aside altogether in favor of a more "radical" design.  If you look at most of the sigs I've made, though, almost all of them use the above pattern.

Item #1 also tends to be the largest, and is typically adjusted with filters and effects to make it stand out.  Item #11 still fits with the whole theme of the sig, but if you've done your job right, it stays in the background.  SMILEY

It's a good start, Alisadi!  I like the layout you've got...I'm not familiar with [Removed for Content]'s commands, but I think it would be pretty easy to polish certain elements up a bit to make it "flow" a bit smoother.

Your characters still have some rough edges; it should be fairly simple to erase those out, albeit a little tedious.  SMILEY  They might enjoy a drop-shadow, too!

While I like the text you've got there, and the way you have it displayed (LOVE the "all evil" bit, LOL), I think the color is a little off...it doesn't quite go with the other colors used, so IMO a more neutral tone might help tie things together -- and be more legible.  If you don't use another color (or you use another color with the same lightness), I recommend adding a drop-shadow so that the text stands out a bit more from the background.

Also, be careful of using elaborate fonts in smaller sizes...all those curlicues can make it hard to read.  SMILEY

A border will help finish things off nicely.  It doesn't have to be thick or fancy; just a thin line, a little inside the outermost edge, most likely in the same color as you use for your text.

JMO, take it or leave it.  SMILEY  HTH!
