One of my friends has lent my roommate his laptop so my roomie can play EQ2 with me. Problem is that after the game gets the updates, the game stars for a few seconds, and doesn't even get to the movies that it just crashes. No errors nothing. The video card has updated drivers and DrirectX is up to date. If there's somethingelse I can do to give more info please tell me, or help me some how.

![]() Even though you believe the video drivers are up to date they most likely aren't. I have a laptop I used many times to play EQ2 with when my desktop was having some hardware raid issues. The drivers you find on the laptop manufacturers site are often very outdated, however if the laptop is ATI based you can download omega drivers for it which are current ATI drivers that will install and run on the laptop. I am unsure if nvidia has something similar and what it's called however. |

hey Cuz, I am having the same trouble, I am on a macbook pro 2.33ghz with 2 gigs ram a ATI X1600 with 256, and XP installed with boot camp, all my other games run fine including guild wars, Battlefield 2142, EVE, stuff like that. But anytime I run EQ2 it freezes up on me after about 5 min. and I have yet to be able to find a solution. If anyone can help as well that would be greatly appreciated.

Hehe I wish this thing could play for 5 minutes :p Really it looks like just getting the intro video to play makes it crap out.

![]() "You require a video card with at least 4 texture units." I think this is the issue. Any way short of buying a new video cards to fix my problem?

Never mind we're returning the laptop and we'll try to return the game too.
