Here are some pics of some things I've done, in my house and some friends' houses. No fireplaces in this thread as I just put them in the fireplace thread. Hope you enjoy. Very impressive, some very original ideas there -- I particularly like the piano!  Are the keys the tops of books?  Or scrolls?

The piano keys are the tops of the boring gray books you get from so many quests. And thanks SMILEY

I have now fallen out of my chair, I'm so impressed.  Yes, I'm typing this sitting on the floor.  :smileyhappy:

Very original ideas!  I love to see what people can create that goes beyond the ordinary.

Well done!  Very creative use of items.  This is the first piano I have ever seen.  To be the first to come up with an idea is pretty neat.  Alot of people will be happily borrowing your concept.  Please be flattered by that and in knowing someone owes their smoking hot jazz club entirely to you.  I like your kitchen and bar layouts too.  The ironwood counters work great in the corner.  It's hard to beat ironwood counters.  I love 'em too much.  Don't know why I never thought of using 3 mirrors for a dress shop before.  See them in real life all the time.  It's too bad there aren't reflective.  It would be cool to get the infinity reflection effect going on.Thanks for sharing your work.  Cheers, and happy decorating!*need to replace my submit post button with spellcheck, heh

Thank you all. I have more or less quit adventuring to become a full time decorator. I'm having waaaaay more fun fussing in people's houses than killing droags and such. I can't wait to see pianos all over Norrath! But be forwarned, the book placement will be the bane of your existance! PS - Starry Eyed Elf, give me the keys to your house! /wink =)

I love the decorations!  Very nice!

I was hoping to make a stove as well.  (I hate their pre-made ones and yours have such a unique look to it!)  It looks like the counter-top is an acrylia desk, but I can't figure out the thing below it.  I thought it was a Freeport counter, but the counter sits much higher and is longer.

If you'd rather keep these a trade-secret, I would understand as well.  =)

Edit:  Oh!  I think I figured it out.  The countertop is actually the Droag Scribing desk, which I discovered is HUUUUUGE!  Thanks again for the pics!

Sorasha what did you use to build the piano exactly? I can see the book s as keys, and the ogguk chairs, but what is the long table top like dark piece you used to set the books in for the keyboard itself please?

Thanks!

The stoves are indeed droag scribing desks with freeport counters underneath. The burners are made with halfling drums, the blue gizmos sticking out are the low level vases that carpenters make (think they are tier 3, I always have to look them up I can never remember the names) with other vases and such stuck through the top with the random L&L/HQ mountable item used as handles for the pots.I have made a stove out of rosewood tables, with sandalwood crates underneath, but the fit is not as good and I ended up bumping up the crates on a rough linen rug and needing to put some shelves around the outside to cover the gap on the bottom. The only problem I have with the droag scribing tables is that they are so freaking huge, that if you are a small race character, it's sort of like an Alice in Wonderland theme...everything is HUGE! I have a ratonga alt where I am trying to make the house more to scale, and I find it quite the challenge. And just to confirm the piano is an decorative pearl table, with tons of those random blah gray books you get (that are SUCH a pain to place in line) and oggok chairs to fill it in.I have no trade secrets, I love to look at what others have done and shamelessly use those ideas, so feel free to do the same!

Boy, you weren't kidding! As my house is in ruins, I decided it didn't matter if the keys were a bit wonky. It was driving me insane, they kept shifting every time I zoned in and out!

I keep coming back to this thread.  SMILEY

So if you don't mind me asking about the stoves, how did you get the counters to sit under the desk?  It looks like I need two Freeport counters to cover the entire length and if I try to overlap them one will "pop out" when it gets too close.  It's driving me crazy.  SMILEY

Milambur -One counter goes in lengthwise and one goes in sideways. Sort of like this...                          /      //___________/   /___/one this way      2nd oneAnd they go underneath the droag scribing desk.I place the desk, then work to get the "stove top" with things sticking out of it just so (moving the desk to and fro the whole time), then put in the 2 counters at the end.I try to put them on what I call "dead end" walls - there's not a room on the other side, because the counters can stick through adjoining walls.Good luck!
