I would love to see more roaming Epic's again in the future of EQ2.... like Grimfeather and Doomsquall in Thundering Steppes... was always cool when you saw em roaming through the areas...  :smileywink: also I think it would give the run on contested a bit fresh air :smileyvery-happy: then static's like Mutagenic or Hurri or Matron...
What do you peeps think about that.. and of course our dear Dev's

More roaming epics would rock. Static ones are too predictable.Besides, it never ceases ammuse me when a wandering epic stumbles apon a poor, unsuspecting pick-up group. SMILEY

Remember before they fixed his pathing, shortly after release, Doomsquall used to camp the road by the gate to Antonica.  That rocked, zoning in to all that carnage as Doomsquall had his way with everyone.

I think everyone has been killed by Mangler at one point or another :smileyvery-happy:

Rly... it can't be that hard to give some epic mobs nice path's then can walk along, killing some ppl who harvest or just /afk at a wrong place/wrong time situation :smileywink:

Isnt it fun... you walk along in the Greater Faydwer, singing a song and suddenly behind you there are some heavy metallic sounds from a gigantic mechanic Ak'Akonsaur or the Big Fungus O'Death or or or or or or or.....

So plz Dev's bit more entertainment in the Epic contested story :smileyhappy:

Forget that...For lesser Faydark if they want to instill terror into the playerbase it has to be the unicorn.  Anyone from live knows the one.  Where if you see it running your already dead.  I swear my rogue would look down at the body piercing he spontaniously recieved as gnomes and LDON groups run in terror. ahhh memories

Brownies.  Nasty little snots.  They terrorized me in LFay forever. Would bring chocolate back to the game, too!

@descartin
you were one of those poor people being killed by out bad pull those days? That was some really fun stuff those days. he was invis on top of the entrance of varsoon, and everyone got killed.
We then thought it wasn't too nice to leave him there so we decided to pull it away from the entrance to the guards on the bridge. Althought the guards decided to help us, Doomsquall pwned them. Well doomsquall camped the bridge then. Anyway a bit better than camping the entrance of varsoon. Sorry for any inconvinience those days SMILEY

Anyway more roaming epics would be great. Just like roaming nameds. Would be fun to see The Carnovinigan roam on that island or all the other nameds.

would be awsome to have some roaming epic and some lvl 75x4 roaming in lvl 30~40 zone to, give us reason to go back to zek everfrost enchanted land or lavastorm. One of my best memory was to cross kithicor forest at the wrong time, entered at dusk, had a fun run from neriak again to finally reach queynos SMILEY.This is the kind of interraction we are missing.

To bad we don't have a vote system here... :smileywink:

And yeah... more High(est) LvL Epics in lower zones (Antonica, TS, Zek; whatever) would be more than great..

Give the Epics legs again so they can walk into their D00M....

or our d00m??? we'll we will see :smileyvery-happy:

As many others have suggested, spawning t7 epics in the lower tier zones would be a great way to have people re-explore old content imho.  It would also spread the player base out a bit if multiple named spawned throughout the overland zones, in turn, causing less lag not only for the regular adventurers but also for the raiders going to detroy this menace to the zone.  I thought an expansion pack dedicated solely to t7 x4 content would be awesome. I'd say 20-30 contested would be awesome.  And with such a substatial playerbase now at the higher levels, there's a good chance, not just 2-3 guilds would be hoarding all the contested.  They can't be 2-3 places at once can they?

Heheh It was less funny if you were in the raid that started it =D. If memory serves me correct that was my old guild who started that fiasco we pulled and all hell broke loose. Nuked the MT and then started running for the zone in. The screams were kinda humourous "OMG he's eating my face etc." Good times Good times.

Oh there had BETTER be Equestrielle the Corrupted as an epic x4. If there isn't, I honestly will cry. I hated her so much... LOL.

Edit: I can't forget to mention the #1 reason this would be a good thing - it'd help "control" the bot groups. SMILEY

They were the best part of raiding Everquest 1.

Or even just questing, I liked having to run around karana's looking for something, it gave more depth to the game.

gemma, not sure what guild you were in but the time we saw it happen i believe HA was actually tryin to take pulls on the kra'thuk, and we were actually formed up to do our first ever raid as a pickup raid force ABCRaid, we swung past kra'thuk thinking hey, one raid is as good as another, someone in the raid force agroed it i think, and then all hell broke loose lol, an hour later and a thousand laughs later they took the server down, nothing like hearing people screaming in shout over near where the broodmother spawns asking w t f  just ate them hahaha

the kra'thuk was moving so fast too there was nothing you could do except sit back and enjoy the show, and die a lot haha

was a great start for our raiding force, that and our MT leading half our raid off a cliff in permafrost...

jeeze we rocked back then SMILEY

I remember getting the level 35+ writs for Turtles in EL, finding the beach and happily ganking turtles until Cragshell the Turtle Avenger came boiling up out of the water and one-hit me.After that was absolute paranoia doing those writs, tracking for him between kills since you could not see him coming. I swear he stalked me.

Roaming epics would be great.  Like other have said.  I remember in RV  when you had to watch out for Mangler.
I would love to see contested and other nameds roam a bit more.  I mean we all remember having to travel all over Ferrott trying to find the bouncers.
It not only adds to game immersion it adds to the excitement.  The relms are a dangerous place so keep it that way.

More roaming epics would be cool, but only if they change the way they current work.

As it stands, they are up for about 5-10 minutes before they depop... unless you have some uber guild that is just sitting around waiting to raid anything that spawns, there is no way to get a raid together fast enough to take them down.

They should pop and stay popped untill they are killed (nothing like an ever present threat that may suddenly pop out of no where to keep you on your toes.) with a few safe spots where they do not path to.

How about a roaming mob that starts out solo and as the day goes on grows more powerful until he is epic just before sunset. The following day he resets again. Something like Holly Windstalker that starts out her lonely walk as a lvl 20 one down, at noon becomes a 30^, 3 pm a 40^^^, 6pm a 50 Epic x2 and then as the darkness of night approaches becomes a lvl 70 epic x4 SMILEY.

fun from a roleplay perspective i guess but imagine the griefing that would occur, and how many times would it actually make it to epic? Would it despawn by dawn? Nah as fun as it might be in theory i dont see any way that could work in practice unless its somehow "unkillable" until it gets to its final form, but even then guilds would just wait until night and run in so theres not much point.I do however like the idea from EQ1 (i never played it) of having a place thats easy by day but hard by night, say a forest of skeletons by day but vampires by night, led by a big epic mob for raiders.Id also like more "Event" typ mobs, but thats something for another thread :smileyvery-happy:

Queynos newbies always have Archer's Woods.  Safe in general by day with deer mobs and rangers, unsafe by night with lots of gobbies.Rho
