I know i've talked a lot of smack about the devs in the past but i really have to say this. The Matron encounter is BY FAR the best experance I've EVER had in eq2.   It was so awsome the skill required to beat it.If at all possible in the future that maybe having more enounters this hard.  SMILEY

And then the loot sucks after it's dead and you ask yourself..."why? why did I spend hours working on this mob for this [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ty loot?" I'll say hats off to the devs when they learn to itemize the game and add raid progression..

but the other half is in the fight.it was an intense encounter, and i'd do it again for no loot at all, after all, Pride>loot.

We saw four of the items from the loot table tonight.  I would withhold judgment until we see them all.

The items need 1 of 2 things (Contested T7 in General, IMO) :1) To have T3/T4 effects/clickiesor2) To have some effects like the pvp server items do. Yeah, pvp items are better than raid loot for anyone who doesn't know that yet.

eh it would of been nice, but I think its much better this way that it was 'tuned' to be the hardst mob from impossible instead of an eh mob buffed up.  I still really think he was beatable befor the patch, but it would require a ton of luck and absolutly nothing going wrong.

Well I'd rather they "tune" it in Beta - that's what it's there for.

thanks for nerfing her down to what it shoulda been when fallen dynasties was released. was fun trying it for the first time but quickly realizing the fight was not tuned and was not going to be beaten until it was fixed was very frustrating .. at least it got fixed in time before eof Morlander Second dawn

Aside from removing crits from raid mobs, which was a game-wide change, I am not aware of any tuning they did to make this encounter easier, so I fail to see what they should have done in beta.

Whoever designed the encounter, awesome job.

Whoever itemized it ( it's impossible that they are the same person, absolutely impossible. ) should be fired.

DMP loot got a revamp.  /waits patiently.

If only they'd replace the stuff with something other than flowing thought or regen it would be great, it wouldn't even have to be a really effective proc to make the item simply that much better, the stats/hp/power/resists on all the pieces flat out own, just change out the FT!

...

Patherpanchali both designed and itemized all the contested in KoS and both encounters in TFD (Chel'Drak and The Direvine Matron).

Let's try this, how about we keep the criticism on the constructive side, perhaps you might be able to get your point across better.

I thought the thousands of posts over the past few months of people complaining about FT and wanting some originality and imagination put into the loot was pretty constructive, but obviously someone doesen't care about what we have to say otherwise the loot would not be in it's current state.  People shouldn't feel as if they got slapped in the face, they should feel a pat on the back, a handshake, something positive.  I don't think anybody feels that way about the loot from Matron.

i agree. many people have actively posted about the lack of originality of items... FT is not so godly that anyone wants it in every slot... its just someone being Lazy IMO, and at this point, i would agree that 4 out of 5 items discovered so far having FT on them is a slap in the face.

i think FT on gear from contested is good but it should have that in conjunction with another effect like the resplendent shoulders.  definitely not the only effect like this, that is just pathetic and is a result of a lack of thought being put into itemization and what kind of gear the people that would be getting this are already wearing.

Lame. If we keep talking about how terrible the loot is we're gonna get the thread locked like all the other matron posts.

I'd appreciate a "I know we messed up" post from the devs about itemization and progression, that at least would tell us they know there is something wrong and they'd be attempting to learn. But we still have not ever gotten that, and I don't think we will. So we'll continue to wonder, and continue to buy expansions thinking there's gonna be leet new progression and valueable items, only to get slapped in the face.

Constructive criticism is over. It's time for destructive. It's time for insults. Why? Because obviously the constructive thoughts had no influence whatsoever, and never gets any responses.

/concureEQ2 has so much potential, but we keep settling for just an ok game hoping with each new patch/expansion/adv pack that the game will improve and be the game it SHOULD already be.

Agreed. Plase put this game into the WoW Killer stance it should be and not the WoW Advertisment it has been for so meny ppl for so [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ing long. A few tiney chagesa such as the loot would have cost WoW alot of players. Who is the dev in bed with Blizzard?
