Hehe, well I was excited when I heard they were going to add some dangers in the water of Nektulos. For some reason I had assumed they were bringing the pirahna back.

I'm a bit dissapointed to see what they replaced them with (not that the river hasn't been empty for a while), sure pirahna had their issues. It still was funny they were there at the entrance and scared the noobs. I remember them jumping out of the water at me and I then soon learned to stay away from the water.

*stocks the torrent with pirahna*

Thanks, but no thanks. Mystical flying pirahna were bad enough the first go around.

Well, I'd settle for Non-Mystical-Flying-Fish. I would like to see some wandering aggro back in the water.

I never really saw much point to the agro fish in rivers. It takes 3 seconds to hop up onto a bank and clear hate completely and my skin looks prettier unmarred. SMILEY

There is some sort of aggro in the torrent now, was running my lowbie alt through nek (which is now loads easier now that they got rid of those damned fire bats!) jumped in the torrent to swim to the CL entrance was minding my own business then next thing I now I'm jumped by a load of aggro-fish! Was surprising to say the least.

I think the orginal poster was refering to the bad old days when the game was new.  The fish wouldn't clear hate when you left the water.  Then once they'd chased you, they would get tired/bugged and stay where they killed you or got tired of chasing you.  Thus, you'd end up with some mean fish hovering along side the road behind a tree.  As if there wasn't enough things in Nek to aggro you in the old days.

Nek forest was a very aggrivating place back then.  I'm glad I saw it that way so I can appreciate the way it is now.  I'm personally very happy the flying fish won't chase people anymore.

You actually like the new Nek?

I loved the danger in NF back then and it was one of my favorite zones. Now it's boring and easy, like everything else.

Rumour has it that a Kindergarten is under construction in the parkland near Nek Castle. :smileyindifferent:

Remember dieing up near those big big giants and getting sent to Bone Lake as a respawn? Then the hard hard treck back though Rumbler territory, then Treant territory, then avoid the Shrillers, and then avoid the giants just to get your shard back? I do, and they were fond memories. So very sad to see such a great zone being watered down to a Care Bear place where any low level charactor can frolic and play in the sun with no chance of getting attacked.

The state of Nek Forest is a great show case on how far this game has degenerated since launch.

I loved it back in the day with dirge speed (faster back then since SoW totems stacked) having a HUGE train of bats, flying fish and the many kinds (but never the type you need for the quest) of owl bears following me as I led people in jboots runs.
