I went out of my way to specifically raise Ortallian faction in the hopes that it would result in some quest material that is inaccessible otherwise...  No dice.  I'm ally with them and the most that I can do is buy some kind of neat looking but worthless armor.  Is there supposed to be some point to their presence?

Same deal with how killing the Alliz Raef Ew raises faction with Anaz Mal gnolls.  Only a handful of non-heroic, low-level gnolls outdoors will start to not bother you, but the hundreds inside the Living Tombs (still Anaz Mal) still want your blood. Most factions are pretty pointless, or maybe SOE is biding their time to expand upon them later?  We only recently saw, as of yesterday's LU19, the factions of the inner cities start to have a purpose beyond just the status point and writ related quests.

The stuff I bought was bright orange and the round shield had a sun emblem on it.

Would love for every faction to actually mean something.  Right now, its just agro or non agro.  I liked how they did it in EQ1 with Velious.  Factions really meant something there.

Wasn't there an Ortallian title you could get at max faction? I'm uncertain of this though.And.. what use is the faction thing in towns again anyway besides writs? Or were you referring to places like the sprawl where there are 3 different factions to fight it out with?
