Also Skyshrine itself had a large undead dragon, if I remember correctly its name was Lord Y some thing rather.  Forget his full name but he is there lol.

and the biggest Bridge I recall seeing was the one from iceclad to eastern wastes think it was, Made out of a giant dead dragon skeleton.

Lord Yelinak? He was the king of the Claws of Veeshan dragons, but wasn't Undead..

Man I hope they don't raise the level cap for a while.  It would extremely curtail the amount of new content they could put out, because new even-higher level stuff will be hard for many people to attain and justify the development expense, and new low level stuff would be too easy to overcome.  Then the inflated new gear diminishes all the stuff we *just got done* spending a fortune on in time and plat.  UGH Not to mention MORE GRINDING OMGZ MAKE IT STOP PLZ PLZ PLZ. Why not solidify T6 for a while, give us the rare furniture and whatnot that we've been waiting for?  Oh yeah and fix that carpet bug while you're at it.  Then I'll gladly sail to that new island or whatever you're planning to put in front of me.

Not to mention the Tower of Frozen Shadows (Velious) which is amply filled with the undead too.

Yelniak wasn't dead. Was Zlandicar? I can't remember now. Although he was in Dragon Necropolis, not Skyshrine.

The clues do point to Kunark in a big way, and Kunark had alot of factions that i dont think alot of people paided attention to or even knew about, Iskar faction was one that you could never really get ally with Iksars because Iksar nercros would still be KoS to you unless you went and found the mobs / animals to kill to raise that faction. The iksar factions had many many factions in itself rather then one faction for the entire race. Most factions were like that, you didnt just build faction with the whole of Cabilis ( home to Iksars ) you had to build up each individual faction with all the different classes but you could never become allies with Iksars because you simply were not a iksar.

Speaking of Kunark because i honestly dont think there going to skip all our old world homes and just jump to Velious style expasion without any real viusal on what the shattering has acually done to our home lands :

Scales you also have the sarnaks as in Chardok or for undead you have Chardok B : Halls of Betrayal. Bruning Woods also.

Undead you also have Charasis ( Howling Stones ). City of Mist, Kurns Tower, Kaesora.

Kunark was filled with Jungle / Swamp land.

Trakanon which was a Undead dragon found deep inside Old Sebilis which he was also for the Bard epic back in the day. Old Sebilis was a dungeon zone deep inside Trakanon's Teeth which was a Jungle zone.  Sebilis was built by a Iksar named Venril Sathir and was once a stronghold for Iksars of Kunark.

Sky or Kingdom of Sky could be refering to Skyfire Mountains. Skyfire Mountains was the zone you had to travel through to find the entrance to Veeshans Peak, a zone filled and home to dragonkin which you had to do a access quest to enter the zone, and could be classed as the Kingdom of Sky seeing as it was found in the mountains and home to the Dragons.

Now the float part, here is where im going to go out on a limb. In EQ1 there is a story line that follows a zone called Veksar, the story behind Veksar is that it was built shortly after Shissar had been run out of Kunark as a resort built by the Kylong Iksar Tribe. After standing upon a lake for nearly 1,000 years, Veksar was destroyed by a Dragon named Garudon and sunk to the bottom of a lake that is known as the Lake of the ill Omen. This is also classed as a undead zone and Garudon can be seen in his undead state still protecting Veksar on the bottom of the lake.

Now id have to be guessing but maybe the shattering has cause the Temple to rise again and can be found floating ontop of the Lake of ill Omen and the only way to reach it could be by levitate, possibly or floating.

In all honesty though i would really like to start seeing how the shattering has effected our home lands and what the effect from it has done to the land itself plus our home cities and monsters or animals in these regions, i think it would give us alot of closure on what has happened to our race, maybe there is even some survivors out there we dont know about.....:smileywink:

Velious didnt add aa; Luclin did.  Velious was purely a content expansion (may have raised the level cap from 55 at Kunark to 60...I'm foggy on that).

Thats why he said NO xp/aa progression..... meaning velious did not have ex/aa progression.

Okay - lets see:

Undead, Bridges, Scales, Factions, Dungeons, Horizon, Seventy, Float, Sky, and Jungle

Undead: Far more undead in Kunark than Velious but both are plausible.
Bridges: Velious gets the nod here but don't forget The City Of Mist had those bridge ramps between levels.
Scales: Most areas had faction to some extent, Velious again gets the nod for more dedicated factions than Kunark.
Dungeons: Everywhere throughout the game so could be anywhere. I give Kunark the nod here for more true dungeon types than Velious.
Horizon: To me this means its off over the horizon, meaning not attached to the present mainland we are on. Boats ahoy (or bells).
Seventy: I think this is a level cap raised to 70 like most others have said.
Float: Levitation spells would be nice. Not much floated in Velious, but City Of Mist certainly floated in Kunark.
Sky: Skyshrine in Velious (check), City Of Mist was up in the Sky in Kunark (check).
Jungle: Only Jungle I can remember in good old frozen Velious was The Wakening Lands, as for Kunark you have The Emerald Jungle, and to a lesser extent the wooded areas of Burning Woods and Warsliks Woods. Not really jungle but still pretty heavily forested.

Both camps have merit, as does the idea it could be something totally different. I give my nod to Kunark purely as I play an Iksar and want to see my old stomping grounds redone in all their EQ 2 graphic splendour, and also there is a cutscene when you zone thaqt already has what looks like the old Iksar statues from various zones pictured.

Cabilis for the win (only Iksars can enter of course, you softskins have to do faction work). There you go, there is your faction tie-in. :smileywink:

Sark.

You altered his text, there was a - between no and xp which indicates he links the no with the xp not with the aa part.  I read it as a no experience and or aa progression.

Meaning you didn't earn experience (levels) but AA instead. Or he is pro AA and thought it was introduced in Velious.

Based on the clues given, I'm leaning toward Kunark myself, though I'd personally rather see Faydwer (maybe with Odus stuck in there).

Bridges: Firiona Vie was only reachable by bridge, also could have an archipelago setup... the original geography of Kunark would work well that way

Float: Two port cities (ties in with the duality currently in EQ2), and a couple of swampy areas, plus CoM seemed kinda floaty to me... maybe that was just the fog
Horizon: Iffy here, but I'm thinking the large outdoor zone with the Karnor's entrance... lotta horizon there, also in OT and Skyfire... large zones were king in Kunark

Jungle: Emerald Jungle
Scales: Iksar, Sarnak, Dragons, Ring of Scale
Sky: Skyfire, Gorenaire swooping out of the sky to make mincemeat of you...

Undead: More than you can shake a bag full of sticks at... Field of Bone, Sebilis, CoM, all of the overland zones

And let's not forget... the best Goblin dungeons in the game! (not that that has anything to do with the clues, but hey... SMILEY )

Kunark would be the best of the two IMO.  Loved almost everything about Kunark in EQ, Velious tended to bring far more raiding into the game and I can't see that a place SoE are wanting to go these days.

I'm hoping the 70 means something like 70 new zones to explore, or something along those lines. I am perfectly content sitting at 60 for a good LONG while. Not only that, but 70 being the new max level would be FAR to obvious compared to their other clues. *prays*

Why is every one saying its to early? More than likely an expansion wont be out til some time in June based on the release date and going live of DoF.

First expansion was announced before June of last year and released early November wasnt it? or pretty close.

If they want to keep upping the level cap, I say bring it on. I can't really think of a good reason why not if they can expand upward indefinitely. I'd be fine chasing a level cap forever instead of AAs or sitting there not advancing at all. Besides which, if you have the right mindframe, you're not really chasing a level cap, you're just playing in appropriate zones and you get rewarded with a level every once in a while. SMILEY

If Moorgard has already stated in another thread that the Plane of Sky is already sneaking into DoF, shouldn't that be a HUGE clue as to what the next expansion is? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but if a Dev has stated something like that, it seems like that would be the most likely answer for the next expansion, and there seems to be a lot of people that have overlooked that. *shrug* Just an opinion.

Lore from Shimmericng Citadel states that "this is the remains of what once was the Plane of Sky" (not exact quote). Meaning that Shimmering Citadel is all that is left of PoSky.  Just to let ya know.

  • Guild advancement expanded to level 50

Shoot me now.  Didn't they JUST put in guild level 40 rewards??  And T6 writs?  I wonder how many months its gonna take to put in content that should have been there in the first place this time.

It is possible that they designed the lvl 50 guild rewards and the next tier writs at the same time when they did the guild 40 and t6 writs.  So hopefully it is all in there and done with.  This would explain why some of the delay in getting it into game.
