With the new combat changes, are Scouts still better off soloing with Dual-Wield or a Sword and Round Shield?

Well, if I am not mistaken, I believe round shields and bucklers have come down in effectiveness, while kite sheilds have been increased. Also, auto attacks are now a MUCH larger portion of your DPS, so I think I would still prefer to use a pair of DW weapons as a scout.

That's kind of a shame as it pretty much means all round shields are a waste of time. Good to hear auto-attack dps has gone up though :smileyhappy: thnx for the info

Its not so much that the attacks themselves do more damage, but most combat arts are now instant casting. So your auto attacks no longer get paused while you watch a casting bar move across your screen.

I will probably continue to carry a shield for a while, even if it is only useful when I am all of a sudden the only remotely suitable tank (pre-evac).

Besides, every one need a frisbie for picnics.

Yep, shields are STILL pretty useless to scouts.
