As I mentioned earlier today, we have someone who will be working closely with our Test server community to ensure that we get the best possible feedback and are made aware of issues as they emerge. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Palladius, a member of our Quality Assurance team, who will now serve as the Test Server Liaison. Palladius will be gathering feedback and issue reports on the Test forums as well as in-game. You'll also see a lot more scheduled playtests occurring on the Test server, so keep a lookout for those. Welcome, Palladius, to the forums. SMILEY

Thank you, Blackguard!

As he said, I will be your contact from QA on the Test Server.  I've met some of you already online and look forward to working with everybody.  I hope to gather some great feedback from the forums and in game discussions to provide QA and Dev with these results.  Please look for my posts on upcoming Play tests.  Thank you all!

Welcome, Palladius. What exactly is it you will be doing for this community? Just medium/middleman feedback stuff, or organized events like leading test groups into a new dungeon or something?

Welcome Palladius!  Enjoy your time here.  I'm just wondering, if I break you open, will palladium clusters fall out like a pinata? :smileyvery-happy:

How will we be able to track Palladius with the current forum trackers? Us non-Test people would be interested in hearing from him every now and then.

Does this mean than non-testers, like me, can expect all bug reports to filter through his in-box?

Ishnar

fixed wierd wording.  How did that happen?

Welcome to the madness Palladius.  May soothing winds find your brow as the beast of the test forum (who are not necessarily testers) lay seige upon your patience.  :smileyvery-happy:

Heh not sure I understand your strange wording, but if I do.... This appears like he will be QA liason for TEST only.

Palladius,   Rather than continue with the copied FoH guild on Test, why not create a guild or two consiting of representatives of the biggest raiding guilds server wide? This would outweigh your 'tried and tested' FoH method in several ways:
  1. The EQ2 community will feel better about it - You will gain an air of legitimacy by increasing the diversity of the pool of test raiders. The only people against this will be FoH or their fanbois. No 'one' guild will be seen as the pre-eminent force for testing game mechanics.
  2. You will gain a different insight from different eyes - Again, the increase in the diversity of the pool will allow testing of a wider range of datum. Using FoH's infrastrutctue can be a crutch you can't count on the Live servers to have... if you create a Test-based raid guild using the representative model and control the infrastructure and co-ordination, you gain an insight into LD and wipe recovery along with increased player strategy.
  3. You will take away a silver spoon from a guild that has berated you publicly and consistently over the years. A fact that has been well overlooked... FoH in it's various iterations have belittled SOE and the player base with impunity for years. This type of behavior doesn't warrant thier participation as a singular entity.
The FoH testing issue is of the ilk that doesn't really cause significant harm...  however, on the surface it looks, smells, and tastes like crap. An issue such as this that can be so easily rectified to provide an easily attainable POSITIVE spin on a topic of such publicity could only be an asset.

shh don't say that guilds name!

I'd rather have a dev operated Test Guild of all the true testers that can be buffed teleported etc at will to test content, to tell the truth. The majority of raiding guilds would care more about getting to content first than actually testing it

Yes they have but one guild keeps being the focus and the haters or conspiracy theorists can't stay off the topic even tho its been answered by the devs already.

Wonder if these haters, realize that bans on the boards, can extend to in game bans as well.  Rules are rules.  If the mods say enough, then it means enough.

Grats Palladius.  Hope things go well, as the QA liason.  I am sure you will be swamped with issues in no time.

Keep up all the good work on Test.

Welcome Palladius !! cool name SMILEY i am really glad to see you guys taking notice of some of the ideas and wants presented with regarding the testing  process.  We look forward to seeing much better releases. Now just make it so we have to #1 - apply to test, #2 - actually fill out test plans/results and #3 copy over a character or allow us to level at will to test whats on the test plans.

Um being copied to a test server, gives them ample time to figure out strats, etc in starting and doing the content when its impemented on the other servers...

once again I have to say, if you copy an entire guild or some entities therein, you should have to stay there pure and simple.  /sigh logic(

welcome palladius, i hope u don't get too swamped...
