using esdf my thumb is perfectly positioned for alt so my ranged attacks are alt-asdf with D being move back.interesting thought about arrows for strafe instead of turn. I think I agree with ti up til now ive just used rightclick and turn to strafe.

Here is mine - though I am by  no means lvl 70 ( yet ) or in the raid format - but this is what I use for everyday fighting.

Hope this helps - you sound like you dont really wanna use the keyboard all that much - I'm a mouse player and use the keyboard more for movements than spell casting.

( have one hell of a time getting stuff to show in forums so there is the link )

First hot key - all meleeSecond hotkey melee/utility/AEThird rangedI use the same key for the same types of spells forisntance, 7 backstab, alt 7 stealthed AE - crtl 7 ranged stealthed DDI personally am a pure button masher - I dont use the mouse at all unless I am targeting. Avoid using crtl 5 as a common hotkey, it hurts the pinky after a while SMILEY

Tigruz....why don't you make a macro to consolidate your master strikes?I leave giants (arbitrary choice) on my hotbar so I can see the resuse timer, and consolidate the rest....I think I had to leave 2 out due to the  long length of the names...but there were a couple I never use T7 so it didn't matter. Its nice hitting 1 or two buttons no matter what the mob is.

i don't use the keys on left side of my keyboard, i use the arrow keys for moving, the "insert, delete, home, end, page up, page down" key plus combination of shift, ctrl gives me more options on my spells. Keypad 0 for autoattack, keypad 1 for jump, keypad 4 for target self, keypad 5 for target nearest NPC.Most effective however, is to bind 3 combo in 1 button. Such as the 3 front dot CA we have, i bind them into 1 button, so when i press the same button 3 times it will perform all 3 without having to press so many different buttons. Also as an assassin, you have to be fast, so mouse clicking is not an option. I tend to put the "buff" and the other CA that i don't use often in combat for mouse clicking, including evac as well. Again, mouse clicking assassin is not going to cut it.

I use a Nostromo, so the arrangement of my hotbars is a bit different. You will see in each screenshot that bars one and two (counting left to right) contain the skills I use in battle.Bar three contains skills I activate more rarely (like buffs).Bar four contains utility buttons. I do have another bar I didn't picture with the screenshots that just contains all of the items in the foot. Each bar, if I point with my mouse, will become full opacity, but really the first two bars are the only ones I really concern myself with in battle. As I play each of my characters, I train myself to be able to press each ability without looking to find it on the hotbar, instead, I look at the hotbar only to see if something is still on a cooldown if I am about to use it, which happens more rarely. Usually, I am looking directly at the mob and my surroundings. So, for my three main characters, I give you their hotbars:My assassin at level 14 (I sadly do not have a more up to date picture):http://keithratliff.com/transfer/assassinhotbars.gifMy guardian at level 24:http://keithratliff.com/transfer/guardianhotbars.gif(When I play my rat characters, I usually leave their sonic vision turned on, as it is in the above shot)And my main, a bruiser. This picture is somewhere around her level 33 mark. She is higher these days, but again, this is my most up to date picture:http://keithratliff.com/transfer/bruiserhotbars.gifThe Nostromo itself has buttons 1 to 9 mapped to keyboard buttons 1 to 9, button 10 is 0, button 11 is -, button 12 is =, button 13 is H, button 14 is TAB. The orange thumb button is right-hand-shift, which is my ventrilo push-to-talk key and button 16 is mapped to ALT, which I hold down while pressing any of buttons 1 to 12 to activate abilities on the second bar.

Yea I thought about it, but I forgot how to make the macro for all those strikes. But, someone posted it on these forums under the Macro thread.

my hotbar mania :s
- hotbar 1 - melee skills.
- hotbar 2 - stealth skills and temp buffs,
- hotbar 3 - ranged and roots.
- hotbar 4 - stealths and deaggroers. (also my macros for assists handilly on numbers 1 and 2)
- hotbar 5 - buffs and stuff.
the smaller hotbars (from left to right)
- usuable items, evac and yell.
- potions (regen, mana, and stat increasers)
- venoms (for on the fly changes)
- other potions (resistances and cures)

i know not the most organised, but i know where everything is, and everything can be accessed on the fly as such, being an assassin you never know what you may come accross, and is good to adapt to lottsa differnet scenarios.

hope it helps :s

Mine seems quite similar to a few others. I try to keep the same type of skills clustered together.Linky

I just use the basic UI for mine.  Granted 5 hotbars is overkill.  But I have raid commands and such on mine.

Also Check out the oldest quest in my quest journal.  Sad but true.  12/2004

Profit UI Reborn IIIt's a really nice UI imo, it has 6 hotbars so you never have to worry about hotbar space, without all the clutter!
