Level 30 assassin here, and for thoe most part Ive allways used leather armor.  Recently a guildie asked me why I didnt wear chain.  I was stumped...Hmm, good question.  Does the mitigation on the chain out weigh the benifits of the avoidence factor on leather?  Am I doing myself a disservice by only wearing leather?     Im a soloist by nature, and have allways pictured my  assassins wearing scruffy leather armor, maybe studded leather, but leather none the less.  I would love to get some info from my assassin brothers and sisters out there along with some hard facts to aid me in making my descisions.  As allways, your help is greatly appreciated.

Doesn't really matter until you get higher in levels and mobs start hitting harder.  If I remember right, some of the leather crafted have marginally better stats here and there.  But you'll want to take advantage of the mitigation you can get with chain eventually.  Once you've pulled aggro or soloed and died enough times, you'll tend to want a safety net. =p

Yeah...and if you want avoidance, pop into your defensive stance.

I don't recall what it was called, but there is a line of armor that drops from the lamias (black tailed women) in Enchanted Lands. It seemed to work well for me at the time and I solo quite extensively. It has a green on black color scheme and there in an NPC on the shore end of the Thundering Stepps dock wearing it.

Thick woven enchanted.  Very nice stats for their level.
