Can someone explain Why...

Our armor is bright silver? Maybe SOE will add more textures later? I mean it looks nice, but I feel to goody in bright silver chainmail.

Doesn't it seem like our armor should be darker? More Assassin and less brightness? Something closer to the outfit in Fable, darker more sinister.

What do you think?

I couldn't agree more. And in addition.... please lose the skirt! Sneaking up on someone while wearing chainmail is difficult enough... Do you know how restrictive those butt flaps are to your movement?!? :smileywink:

i think theres a bit of a lack of styles of armour throughout the whole game SMILEY

all classes tend to look identical, at least they do at my current level. which is something i'm not keen on, i loved in EQ how i'd be seeing new looking people every single day even at lvl 53, no one looked the same.

i think it'd be a nice idea to introduce some kind of Enamel or dye's for armour, to wash it a different colour of your choice for each peice..

Well, I have found that the enchanted black iron chainmail found in Runnyeye looks hella cool, at least compared to the quest armor i just upgraded out of. The only real issue is that it hardly ever drops. But through perseverance, I've managed to loot an entire set of it, and the black looks so much better than the silver or pink quest armor does. Keep your eyes peeled

From what I have seen, all the graphics on armor changes every 10 levels.

All chainmail from 20-30 looks exactly the same. All chainmail from 30-40 looks exactly the same (with some very minor color changes). I'm sure this will the same for 40-50. There really is only two differant looks every 10 levels (chainmail and brigadine). This applys to other armor as well. All robes from 20-30 look the same (orcale being the one and only differant looking one), 30-40 the same as well. I've seen five differant kinds of robes in the level 30-40 range but they all use the same graphic. I've had 5 differant kinds of chainmail chest items from 30-40 and they all look the same. Only differance with the chainmail is the color. Most are silver, one set is black.

The enchanted black chainmail does look nice, but like someone else said, it's pretty hard getting a full set. I have almost collected a whole set but cannot find the last few pieces via drop or broker.

I really liked that fact in EQ1 you could tell peoples classes just by looking at their armour, I wish it were the same in EQ2.

Well just seems like they need to add more textures. I think they did a great job with the monk armor and making it look unique (well the color sucks), so why not take that same approach with all class armor, make it look different from someone else that happens to wear medium.

The quest armor is meant to be generic. So it not "our" armor but also for brigands and bards. There is no class only armor so unless they add in dyes that can make them more evil assassin like we will just need to make due with what we have.

Acutally there is if you count the level 20 armor. While the armor does not say "only monks can wear" the armor that monks get is made only for monks. It's a suit of armor that only monks will wear unless some guy doesn't like his 20 armor and gives it away to someone else. Bruisers also have their own suit of armor that's just for them.

So while all mages, tanks, priests, and scouts look the same with their level 20 armor, monks and bruisers have a suit of armor that's look really sets them aside. You know that person is a monk/bruiser because of their armor. I think it's a shame that only monks and bruisers get a set of armor made just for them looks wise and everyone else gets a generic set of armor.

I was pretty surpised by the lack of variety in the armor overall also. It feels alot like EQ1 right now where you can either mix pieces of inferior armor and stand out or wear a single set of superior armor that looks exactly the same class to class. I understand also though that at lvl 25 I have no idea how many more options will open up. I was simply expecting to be able to differentiate my character sooner.

I'm not one to play dressup with my toons, but I'd really like some sort of tunic with a cloak type animation. I did complete a quest that gave me a robe reward the other day, and I ran around town in that getting some laughs, until a caster friend demanded I give it over for the 5 int bonus. Then explain why the monk armor makes them look like they work for a circus and other light armor wearers look different?

Well...if you want realism, we shouldn't be wearing Medium armor at all. No way would an assassin be able to sneak in a full suit of chainmail. I'm glad we wear medium in terms of gameplay, but in a way I wish they'd have just left us with light armor and saved medium for bards and maybe brigands.
