HO Grp macro help pls

Hi could someone please post there working grp HO macro.  I cant get mine to work and im really hating the whole HO grp thing right now.  Im looking for a macro that will say to grp Starting HO in 3 seconds and then open up the HO and do what ever else its supposed to do. TY.  Oh please if u try to help me, assume im an idiot and be very specific lol.

Bah I cant figure this out!  Im trying to set up a macro to do this:

 

/gsay Starting HO in 3 seconds ; pause 3 ; useability Lucky break ; 

 

I have tried slashes in front of the commands no slashes, moving the semi colons around but nothing works.  I can only get one command to work like if I just do /useability Lucky break; that will work or if I just use /gsay starting ho 3 secs that will work but not all together.

I've resorted to making 3 buttons. I don't think its possible to do more than one action in a macro.I use:Macro 1 - /g Starting HO in 2 secondsMacro 2 - /g 1 second until HOLucky BreakThe countdown helps my group (as well as me with the counting heh) anticipate the HO and its usually pretty successful. Unfortunately it requires using 2 additional hotkey slots.

If you read through some of the /petition things you cannot use abilities in macros. Its impossible, and I think highly **mods 4 teh win!!1!**. I want to make a macro to use Shadowed Strike and to deactivate attack, but noooooooooooooo. Frickin Sony

i use:/glare ;useability shrouded strike ;autoattack off no space after the ";" and no frontslashes after the first one. why? /glare for that umm.. extra effect, seriously though i had to put in the emote for it to go off, and auto off incase i lag and miss to cut in Poisoners blade.and it works everytime... tho the MT does wonder why i keep glaring at him If thats what you ment.. or did i missread? but multiple abilities in one macro.. wont work

I've found that the useability line will work fine on its own, but try & use them whilst saying does not, usually an emote would break this feature.ie/sneer ; useability Shadow Blade ; gsay Take That! %t/sneer ; useability Shrouded Strike ; autoattack off ; useability Poisoner's Blade (yes it does work)I have also tried the HO /attention ;gsay starting HO in 5 ; pause5 ; useability Lucky Breakbut alas, i cannot make it work eithersimplest way would simply be/gsay Starting HO in 5 secsthen manually press Lucky break after 5 secs..also be sure to type your abilities EXACTLY as they are shown or else you will get "no such spell in knowledge book"

      I've been trying to figure this HO macro thing out as well.  It is so much easier to pull them off when one group member is organizing them or at least when your group mates know which one you are trying to do. 

 

     After searching the web for a couple days now about this i've found this out as well

 

    There is no need for an emote in front of your macro line

 

    Use it like this   : ; gsay HO starting in 5 secs; gsay Order for this HO is as follows (example Horn - Moon - Fire); (there would normally be a pause command here but i cannot get it to work); useability Lucky Break;

 

    The colon at the start of the line works instead of using an emote.

I recommend doing 3 seconds, and state in your macro what HO you are doing. like:

 

/gsay Starting HO in 3 seconds, cast now - Boot - Chalice - group heal

 

And then setup several macros for different HOs, that seems to work good. 5 seconds is too much of a waste in time, hard enough to convince ppl to do HOs as it is.

Good suggestion. That's similar to how it was done in FFXI (to use renkai - similar to HOs).I had my guild set up some macros that look like this:Mine/gsay Starting HO in 2 seconds! Next in chain - FIGHTER HORNFighters:/gsay Moving HO! Next in chain - PRIEST MOONand so on. Its much easier as the next in the chain can start casting right as they see the message.Ideally once they give us a little more flexibility in macros I'd like to do something like this:/gsay HO in 2 seconds! Next ability FIGHTER HORN; pause 1;gsay HO in 1 second! START HORN ABILITY NOW; pause 1; useability Lucky BreakBut we'll have to see if and when such an update comes along.

former FFXi player here, did lots with the renkei's.

 

then reason why I have the "Boot - chalice" in the line is so that both the fighter and the priest prepare at the same time. If chalice comes right away after boot, it goes off faster. people always complain in groups that getting HOs off are too slow and prevent 'x' number of spells being cast, etc.

 

you are right, if i could at least do a ';wait 2; /g "Fighter cast boot now" ; wait 1 ; /g "Priest cast chalice now" ' the whole HO would go alot smoother

 

it's all about the timing.

Since scouts start most of the larger HO's how about using Pathfinding as a timer (it is 5 sec cast time and  6 sec recast) to handle the lack of a pause command. would go something like this:

 

/gsay HO in 5 secs <>

/useability Pathfinding

/useability Lucky break

 

In theory Lucky break would queue up after Pathfinding (5 sec) and everyone would see the graphic from Pathfinding to know that the HO has been started.
