I shall be shunned on lol, this question will probably make me look stupid but oh well...

I never bought spike trap, was curious about what it does and should I bother buying it?

i think you mean thorny trap. it's an awsome tool for use with soloing. excellent spell in my opinion. this is how it works. you press the button and it lays a trap in front of you. it kind of looks like a rat nest from anton or croc nest from ss. what you do is then pull a mob over the top of it and it damages them and roots them for a short period. this is a group target spell so it roots multiple targets. i use it all the time when pulling groups of vvv mobs.

Great now i feel dumb for not buying it, what i usually do when i pull groups is just snare one tab over snare the nest then start chipping some off with the other guys snared, guess ill go buy it tonight if im on, i dont think ill be although guild wants me to go do that epic instance in Thundering steppes, the giant one but i dont think I'm gonna make it. Don't even know why they wanna do it /boggle

It also snares them for a short time after the root drops, IIRC.

Should be in the Examine info, too. Not in game so I can check. It's 3am and I really should go to bed if I intend to work tomorrow.

I've had the root last for insane ammounts of time....long enough to solo a blue heroic with him rooted the entire encounter.

I use thorny trap every time I take on Keeper in Poet's Palace. The root has never broken for me if I'm not actively damaging the mob, so I set the trap right at the top of the stairs, target one of the two adds, pull with RoA, and take the adds down one at a time. The remaining add and the keeper wait patiently at the top of the stairs until I'm ready for them. SMILEY
