Hey guys, I'm trying to tweak my lvl 70 Ranger.

For AA, I am going Agi/Int lines.  But I'm trying to decide if the last poison dot on the Int line is better or the extra 8 points to Ranged Crits and Poison Crits?  I'm not sure how much crits increase dps % wise.

Also, a couple of other questions.  When does Agi reach a soft cap that is no longer useful to take it up? (doesn't affect power/chance to hit/etc)
And does Int increase dmg for CAs and poisons?  I know str does for wpn dmg.

Thanks!

str increases CA damage.  int increases procs.  agi is for avoidance and power pool (but really does not help avoidance much)

As far as the AA goes, I'm not sure since I haven't used the final INT ability.

Thanks Xney!

Does anyone know what the softcap is though? 5/lvl, 200, 500? x/lvl + base?

Not sure about the cap but I'm happy with going the AGI line myself. I have plenty of power in raids and with a prismatic in hand I rarely need shards/hearts to finish fights.

The ranged crit is definitly worth maxing out. Add that to M2 focus aim and the Awakening item and you'll crit 2/3 of your arts for 10 seconds. Awesome for soloing. The AGI also helps if you ever tank (which oddly I do often). With the extra avoidance you can grab someone and duo the old T-6 instances or hit up the nest with a good healer.

As for the last INT choice, unless your on PvP dont use it IMO. You'd be better off putting the 8 in STR. The rest of the str you'll get with relic/fabled armor.

I went with agil and int lines.  I used to have the intoxication AA, but it didn't seem to do as much damage as I liked.  So,  I went with 8 points into crits for both agil and int and now I seem to be doing much better dps.  Using caustic poisons,  I crit for around 1k - 1.5k alot just from poison alone.  The intoxication AA probably would be good for pvp though,  and I know some other rangers that have it too and like it.

depends what u do...as far as me , old ranger that was raiding every day, i liked agi line till poise and 8 in crits with the rest in stamina...for hp boost...huge difference in your total hp which helps a lot for aes...

i was still able to reach the dps i wanted but with a good amount of more hp...some points in sta + the 8% total hp is nice...

but its more a matter of preference really

510 is the hardcap for stats, I've yet to see anyone prove otherwise with any numebers.   Listed CA damage stops going up at 510 strength and strength up to 800+ yields no listed benefit. And as far as the crit chance vs the poison, I think the crit chances may add up to more damage overall over time and even if they are the same, it's less work to allow the passive crit chance skills do the deed than another button to press

Cap is 7 x lvl + 20. STR above 510 does change attack stat though, but no one really knows if the attack value is actually doing anything when STR is above the cap. Unless a Dev already stated information on the topic SMILEY.

Thank you for the info everyone, very useful.
I have decided to go with the extra crits and not get intoxication, which is what I figured.  I respec'd last night because I was checking out str line, so now I'm down the Agi line and started on Int.  Really notice the diff with poise, already had the 8 in range crits so nothing new there, love watching it crit like crazy with focus aim on.  SMILEY

Another thing to keep in mind is I believe Intoxication only procs off melee (not positive though) and if that's the case then it's a great final AA for Assassins but not for Rangers.

any melee art will use this.. and it will proc once at 100% of the time every 45s. It is something that can be well utilized by rangers.. I just hate the sta line, and how asssassins get the extra poison debuff.

I posted this a while back but since you asked about INT I'll link the amount I found INT to effect the different poison damages.  Enjoy.

Thank you Kala, I don't come on the forums much, so I missed that.  That was very helpful.  Hehe, so my lil 60 something INT needs to be upped as I come across other gear.  SMILEY
