Personally I think they made a fantastic choice if they want to be a ranger for the sake of being a ranger.

I have much fun with playing a ranger.  I would not enjoy being an assassin in this game as dps doesnt mean as much to me as my affinity for playing a ranger.

Not trying to bait you, not trying to flame you, not saying anything other than this post stinks if its the first thing someone sees when coming into the forums....it just perpetuates the idea that we are worthless...and dont group with rangers...

I just dont get it.  :smileyindifferent:

Personally, I thoroughly enjoy playing my Ranger. I always have. I dont get hung up on adjustments made to abilities or reductions in dps (theres alot more to enjoying it then having uber leet damage), I roll with the changes, adapt and continue enjoying my toon. I would hate to see someone considering this class decide not to because 100 chicken littles are running in circles declaring the sky is falling. They may actually enjoy it but would miss out because they were turned away due to someone elses opinion.I would gladly welcome anyone switching to the class by either betrayal or rerolling and would be more then happy to help answer any questions.

Each to their own I guess, but if you play this game at the highend then the ranger class isnt cutting it. I dont there's any problem with the class in grps but when you start looking at endgame content then you really see the deficiencies in the class.Moving beyond endgame and dps, i'm curious how long you have been a ranger. I've played this class since day 1 and in all honesty it doesnt feel like the class I loved to play, it's been watered down to nothing more than a wizard in chain in my opinion. If your happy with this then thats great, more power to you.

I like my ranger too.I may not do that great DPS but I never checked if I did .I just am happy with the class ,I enjoy it.I may not have seen the light because I am only 52 and I may be stupid and unenlightened compared to those of you who are 70 and fed up. Yes I get that you are frustrated with the constant nerfs and stuff and want to leave but it is getting truly tiring to come to these boards and see people like the OP who is now playing another class and praising that class on those boards to come here and diss this one.

Yes OP even said that DPS is worth nothing cos other classes have it too whereas his new chosen class of Dirge is so unique and great.

I get it okay I know you  hate rangers as a class now and you think eevryone should be down on them too.

I do not come to these boards to be upset and I do get so when I have to read stuff like this daily.

I cannot understand what is with this culture of constantly whining and complaning and just making everything so negative.

I am truly and honestly sick of it.

I love my Ranger and will never change him. I was hoping this thread was a place (as the title suggested) to give the assassins some advice, but I guess I'll just move along and hope it gets locked SMILEY

Oh come on, people - knock it off.  The dude made one post that he meant to be humorous, he didn't beat up your grandma. If he's tired of playing a ranger or has problems with it, fine. If you don't like his attitude, fine. But let's not descend into [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ery and infighting again.

What's worse: complaining about the class, or complaining about people complaining? At least one of them avoids hypocrisy.

Let's PLEASE not go down this road again, where we start all turning on each other and being complete pricks b/c we're [Removed for Content] off about the damned game. Seriously: If you aren't happy with the class or with the game, play something else. Don't come here and attack other people who either aren't as unhappy as you are, or who aren't handling the problems the same way you choose to. The forum is here to share our thoughts and ideas about the class, and there's going to be a certain amount of complaining in ANY forum. It's up to each of us individually to determine when "voicing thoughts" becomes "whining" or unnecessary negativity. Ask yourself if what you're posting is helping you, your fellow rangers, or the community in general. If not, consider leaving well enough alone, you might end up happier as a result. Good luck.

Yep...I dont like how rangers are 100%.   I have problems with changes that were made today.  And yes I will voice that and have no reason to give someone else a hard time.  If its done with jest and humor, well...how can I complain.

So...thanks for pointing this out.  I should have just not posted anything in response to that.

Whoah, easy on the self-flagellation, bro! I wasn't directing the 'hypocrisy' remark at you or any one person in particular, just pointing out that if someone has a problem with ppl complaining or being negative... that complaining or being negative ABOUT that problem isn't really sending the ideal message. Poise makes the Ranger class more fun to play because it's faster paced.  It doesn't help the overall dps much but it beats waiting for the casting timers so long. SMILEY

I feel that when a person makes several posts on the same boards about a class and they are complaning or talking about how they class is going downhill and such it makes visiting such boards a downright unpleasant thing. The OP is guilty of it . I do not find this post funny nor is it even very witty just silly.

I think that my neglect in not pointing this out will lead to more post by him in such vein.

I will take a stand against such negative and constant post of this kind because by doing nothing I am tacitly allowing it to continue.

You may disagree and preach about complaning but just reading and not stopping this types of posts only makes the front page a lousy place to be.

He will think twice now before he starts another post. In fact he posted a subsequent post talking about the good things about a  ranger. Guilty about this one perhaps ?

The worse thing one can do is allowing these boards to slide to jokes and derison and constant complaints about the class from people who by their own admission no longer even want to play this class.Instead they take pleasure in coming here to joke and make fun of the class. Furthur their superior knowledge because they reached 70 while the class was unnerfed is something to be considered too since their knowledge is at best a memory now is it not .So basking in that glory of days past is helping the present situation exactly how ?

No I will upbraid and point out such behaviour . It does have an effect. At least for a bit to stop the same person from posting in such a vein.

is the object of this post because you think, alot of assassins will betray to Ranger?why on earth would they do that? .. simialr DPS, assassin is a bit cheaper and assassins have stuff they can actually do on a raid, agro transfer and the like.. I'm betraying my 60 Ranger to an assassin.. there are a million Rangers on Oasis.

Whats that mean?  Is that like pooting on your self?

No, I didnt think so, but sure I will still look back at what I said and think about it in that context...and actually I think I was being hypocritical...pretty badly too...

Meh!  I dont mind admitting it lol....I have done almost the very same thing as Valley has done here...

Furthermore...after taking a look into forum-land post LU24...[Removed for Content]...I think anything we can write is comparably tame to whats going on out there and creeping into here hehe.

So...sure I will self fart if I think I fit a certain category lol

I agree Kaeros, but IMHO, it would have been a lot funnier if we would have put ONE helpful tip there. Then we could have all followed suit. Even something as simple as summoning arrows every chance you get...

Personally I have no problems with a post like this.  Sadly in our little EQ2 world if you want something changed you whine and whine and whine and whine.  That is the only thing the dev's will respond to.. I actually wish this wasnt the case.  I wish they could sit down and see that some classes (ie Rangers and SK's) don't bring anything to the endgame.  Some of us have a problem with our role.. When it gets to the point that we've all had it and we yell enough, things will change.  Some of you might not like the gripes but that's life.  I wouldn't expect to see them let up anytime soon.If a class of people isn't complaining they are probably going to get nerfed sometime soonSMILEY

We get it, valley. You hate the class, you don't want to play it anymore, you think it sucks, etc etc etc. How many posts do we have to have in this vein before you think our miniscule minds will see the great shining neon light that you're emitting screaming "I hate rangers!" Sorry Jay. I'm just tired of seeing the same posts like this over and over ad nauseum. Constructive criticism is one thing. Coming here and crapping our boards up for his own amusement and giving new rangers a negative view right off the bat gets my ire up.
