![]() SOE is making a bundle craping on their customers and they feel this will help their subscriptions?? Go look at what Smedley did to SWG. That MMO is just about dead and its Star Wars!!! How can you F up Star Wars!?!??! Everquest had a good run but Smedley is slowly working on destroying the company by taking giant craps on their subscribers and thinking we all have short term memory and will forgive them somehow. A little statement for Smedley and SOE. DDO took some of your playerbase, Vanguard will finish you off and Brad will watch you slowly sink to the bottom while He and Microsoft laugh all the way to the bank. See you there! ![]()

![]() well, to be honest, i dont think its that bad. LU19 is great improvement for new players and along with EQ2 back on shelves in gaming stores the population can suistain growth. Even if some rangers will leave, after the proc change it will be no wonder. Vanguard and DDO are not the real threat for EQ2 i think. The biggest competition has already way biugger market share - and thats WoW. DDO is hardcore, maybe more than Vanguard will be. Strict AD&D rules, instanced dungeons, slow advancement and no crafting, that doesnt make for mainstream game. Even the previews are pretty mixed. Good fun when playing with mates like you used to in pen & papers times but frustrating solo or in pickup groups. Vanguard may cater for HC gamers too as many people behind EQ live are on the team. But agaim forced grouping is not the way to ultimate success. It may suite hardcore gamers but it wont probably be a mainstream hit. I mean, its not all doom and gloom for EQ2. tha game is fine. nice graphics, many classes, tons of quests... It has flaws and rangers are not as enjoyable to play as before LU20, but its not all about ranger. And yes, i dont like the change myself as my ranger seems now very weak.

sure, i get the point. i was just trying to say, that while its ok to express your views, its much better when your arguments are valid. It was said few times already - construtive criticism may help, insults will not. and i would really love to see may ranger stronger gain. It is class i wanted to play since start yet started only after LU19 and loved it so far.

if that were the case, the dev's would have ignored the mages complaining and actually did a statistical analysis of dps and realized that everything was for the most part fine...maybe a LITTLE tweaking...problem was, the dev's just heard a lot of crying, and just wanted it to end, so they just took a quick peek instead of crunching real numbers and threw the first fix they could think of at the problem. |

I understand what your saying. I guess im jaded... No, I KNOW im jaded.
A little history on my experience with SOE. I played and loved EQ1. I really have no complaints about that MMO except they kept making it easier and easier. In SWG I spent months grinding my way up to attain Jedi. After unlocking the slot I then spent months grinding Jedi to full template. I then spent months hunting and killing to get the very best equipment. My reward for all of the above was to watch SOE deploy the NGE and completely negate all of my hard work by making Jedi a normal profession, one that anyone can attain with 5 minutes of game play. Also, all the equipment I worked for was nerfed into oblivion. I cancelled that subscription in disgust and went full time on EQ2. I spent months leveling my Ranger to 60 and getting the very best equipment I could get. My reward for the above was to now watch SOE once again crap on all my hard work. When I played ranger I had an expectation on exactly what kind of damage he would do and now its all gone. This wasnt a small nerf. Rangers are now do 50% less DPS than the original design. All that hard work and time and we now have the same DPS as a pally with none of the utility and no plate armor. SOE continues to screw over the subscribers, not to better the game, but to try to increase their wallet. In the process they step all over the people who have been keeping this game going in hopes for new subscribers and to better complete with other MMO's out there who have ten times the subscriptions. If this is the new SOE policy, I don’t want to hang around to see what they will do next.

![]() "the dev's just heard a lot of crying, and just wanted it to end, so they just took a quick peek instead of crunching real numbers and threw the first fix they could think of at the problem." So if we think of LU20 as an overreaction, what are our chances of them correcting the situatiuon (soon)?
