The campfire idea is nice, too. SWG has that, where I was a Ranger/Bio-Engineer and I could craft camp kits that went up in the wild and would heal your battle fatigue as they got into more advanced ones,. although fatigue always healed faster if you had a dancer to watch. ![]() I think we fine just the way we are... we bring our DPS and aggro management, we need no "stinkin'" group buffs. Its a case of having one or the other, you just cant have it all (I dont want it all).

![]() Like the Rog raid the other night... "Ok, buff up and get ready". Kae says "Locked and Loaded" and I said "I came buffed and ready"... LOL Sure I don't get put into G1 because I bring nothing to help the MT or the healers keep MT up, but I do get invited to the raid and they tell me to bring my friends..... I need nothing. I would take Kae's very modest suggestion, but I am perfectly happy right now. |

![]() I think the OP is a little greedy personally. I am watching tanks and healers run around, and really struggling, and it makes me feel extremely guilty. In every game I have played, I have always been a ranger type. I am used to working harder, and not getting the beef everyone else got. Until the CU, I was able to do whatever I wanted, however, as for groups, we werent quite as wanted, unless they knew how you played (relaxed or all out, because all out, even before the CU, came close to wizard damage when our CA's were up) The devs made a very concise decision to make us machine guns, not med kits or rabits feet. And I can appreciate that whole heartedly. I wont argue DPS numbers, but I know that I can solo exp as fast as any class. Group buffs? Im going to have to say 'Ill take no thanks for 100 alex.' I dont want to fall back into mediocrity. I do not want to be a jack of all trades and a master of none. To me, the game has to be a balance of pros and cons. Our pros are we lay it down hard. Our con is it costs money, we have to play attentively, our skills take longer to reset, and if it goes bad we rack up debt quick. Personally, and I do not have any agenda for saying this, because I only play one character. Im not an alt kind of guy, GIVE THE LOVE TO THE TANKS AND HEALERS. Us rangers know that we are as close to perfectly balanced as we can be. The pros and cons teeter back an forth almost perfectly, but our couterparts, are struggling. I would rather see suggestions as to how to bring tanks/healers come into line with us (Not dps wise, but game balance/fun wise) than keep tossing up pitches for the nerf bat. I would like to see tanks be able to out last 1 ^ mobs again. By sheer hps and mitigation. I would like to see templars healing better than all other classes, and the rest the classes healing where templars are now. I would like to see WIzards get a chain gun nukage spell around 55 like stream of arrows. I would like to see assassins be able to deliver the initial damage that would reflect the name assassin. It would be nice to have classes that when in a group, were so useful, the group set its strategies around it, no matter what class, adding to the strategy being used would utilize all of the classes. I would like to see alot of THESE things fixed because quite simply, I like rangers like they are, and dont want to get so greedy we get nerfed back to the stone age again. Just my 2 copper. ![]() Yes, please don't give us anything more I'm starting to feel bad when grouping with wizards.... Yesterday I was killing giants in PoF in a very good group ( Bers 58, defiler 58, inquisitor 58, Monk 57, Troubadour 56 and me Ranger 57). To make the game barely challenging we had to ask the troubadour to pull while the tanks and me were fighting because fighting 1 or 2 groups at a time just wasn't fun when the mobs die in 30 seconds.... To make things worse, a little later group changes and we loose troubadour and monk and get a coercer 53, a wizard is on its way and we are clearing to him. I see a level 59 giant near and not waiting for the tank I pull it with Stream Shot ( when mobs die in 30 seconds you don't let tank build up aggro before using it or you end up shooting only 2 arrows at the mob before it's dead). Mob goes on me but no biggy we have 2 healers and they know their job. Turns out tank was afk and mob still died in like 35 seconds............

Its a shame not one mention of assassins in this thread about top DPS dealers! :smileysad: Assassin need your help rangers! Plz stay on the dev team to fix us!

![]() As far as I'm concerned I dont' feel bad at all for Wizards/Warlocks they have their niche and we have ours. They are able to fullfill their role just fine if played properly. As for equality for tanks and healers well.....I'm not touching that with a 10 ft stick certain EQ1 generalizations seem to want to become the 'norm' and leads to such and such class should be the best because.. "Enter Reason Here". All tanks should be able to tank and all healers should be able to heal how and when is the Dev's choice. On the other hand our "Dark, weird, backalley loving counter parts' need tweeking..maybe more sunlight will help!

Yeah, "buff up" usually means "freshen your beverage and put on some good music" for me. The finger-wigglers can make with the pretty lights all they like. My pre-battle preparation tends to go: "Poisons up? Check. Offensive stance? Check. Self buffs? Check. Full clip? Check." Especially now that our only buff is never off, we have plenty of time to mix cocktails while casters and bards get their buff on. RE: my "Herbal Medicine" idea - just to clarify, I don't think that we *need* that, just meant that if we gained any additional utility, that's the one thing I could see that would make sense and have a constructive use. I'm happy the way we are, since predators aren't intended to buff groups any more than healers are intended to do DPS.

![]() You get one magic debuff, and you get one heat debuff. Choose what you want to use and maybe yull get some mage loving.
Anyway thats all utility I want besides dps cuz dps is the only reason I get into raids and I tell you im not a plague just cuz I cant buff or debuff like bard or rogue.
If we were getting more utility buffs or debuffs then there would be a matter of class balance and dev's would need to put us closer to bards or rogues dps chart. Do you really want that? Edit: Yes I see the need for assassins to get some love. One thing I would like to see assassins have is a version of amazing reflexes like one of the rogue classes got. Ok simply put when a ranger is in the main tank group (in my experience and opinion) IF there is room (and there often can be in the following case) and you have 1) A Mobt that Power drains, 2) a Paladin main tanking the mob... Amends + Out of Power Paladin + Ranger DPS = Mob Locked on Main tank who is totally out of power... Try doing that with a guardian or other main tank, if he's out of power and the rangers, wizards etc go nuts they will pull agro, paladin with amends, and taunts when he has power can hold agro still on just about anything.
