![]() Quiver's would be SOOoooo nice for us to place our arrows in and stick it in ammo slot. We could even have a cool quiver graphic on our backs. Please SOE, give us quivers, or all classes a quiver.

I've said this before, and I'm not being flippant. Think of it this way: You already have a quiver, it's built-in and it holds 99 arrows. There's an earlier thread about this topic somewhere. In it I found the most useful suggestion I've yet seen... if you double-click a stack of arrows in your inventory, it will auto-fill the arrow stack in the ammo slot. Couple this with keeping one bag for arrows open and invis (unless you mouse-over) and you, like me, will never run out of arrows again. I hope my reply helps some.

Agreed, 99 arrows equipped at one time is like having a quiver. If they even did add quivers in, only expect it to be able of reducing weight by so much. Thats what i think. But i would be all for a quiver that is kick [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot]. But im not gonna cry a river if i dont get one.

![]() 99 arrows is not alot of arrows! Adding quivers with stats would be a nice benefit as well. Not to mention the graphic point...(Above) Dont know the comparison but WoW you can have 2000 arrows or so in your quiver...

![]() I would kill if they just let arrows autoequip after a stack is finished. You dont know how many times Ive been at the crux of a close fight or about to finish a mob off and hit my big bad [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] master 1 combat art, just to get "missing component". It totally kills the moment.

I can go through arrows a LOT faster in beta now as well, the arrow proc consuming one and stream of arrows and 99 can be gone in a mater of 2 fights.

Ok, I'm a new Ranger so take my comments with a grain of salt. My game play style is as follows... assist the MT first with AA, then I stealth/CA, then I back off and Open Shot and Back Shot. In a heavy XP 1 hour session last night I went through 3 stacks of arrows just using Open Shot and Back Shot. Each time I got the 'Missing Component' message I cringed. "Arg, I've gotta re-equip my arrows" I'd tell the group. My AA would be on of course, but in the time it took me to open my bag and equip another stack, I could have nailed the mob with at least one 100+ dmg CA. I guess this is going to be the life of a ranger and I should suck it up. All I'm saying is I'm in the 'auto refresh' camp. You know like the old days of EQ1. Oh, did I say that out loud? : P

![]() Personally I would love quivers, or least some sort of on screen arrow quantity indication so we have have an idea when our arrow levels are getting low. Typically I use about 100-150 arrows an hour when soloing (pre-patch), less when in a group. But it always seems that you run out of arrows at the worst possible time and is mildly irritating. So in summaray

I wouldn't mind the quiver myself, especially if it had the graphic on my back since my bow doesn't show. It can still hold 99 arrows, and I can still auto-load it myself as I do now, just something to give it more of an RP feel than carrying arrows in my back pocket. The archers from Gates of Discord always looked cool with that quiver on his back, made them look like a true archer. As it stands now, our arrows are apparently stored in my pocket and I pull it out for each shot since you do not see them until they are fired. It doesn't need stats, or auto-loading like EQ1 or even weight reduce. Just give me something that shows me carrying some arrows and I would be happy.

I figured I should chime in with what I would like to see instead of just explaining how I see things as they are right now. I would *love* to see a quiver graphic, and I would love to be able to equip a quiver if only for some stats or delay tweak. Similarly, I would be very happy if our arrows just auto-reloaded. Since 99 arrows isn't very realistic (I've never heard of a RL quiver that holds more than 12 arrows), auto-reload wouldn't be too far a stretch. Bottom line, I think 99 is a fine number to draw the line at if we have to reload. LIke i noted in my earlier post, if you just set up a bag that you can make invis until you mouse over it, you can double click your ammo and it will auto-fill for you. I have only run out of arrows once in the last 3 months. And that one time served as a reminder to double-click a little more often.

![]() There are a number of screen interfaces that have placed the ammo slot along with various other slots like activate, pri/sec, and bags in a little window so you can always see the number of arrows you have remaining at a glance. Essentially like having Inventory open all the time but in a less conspicuous and out of the way place. I do like the dbl-click arrow stack to equip idea though. Could easily switch damage types on the fly if need be too.

![]() So does that mean that "Backup Quiver" or whatever the name is, might be a good choice for the training option?

![]() Not sure what exactly you mean here - what is a quiver is intended to accomplish that doesn't happen already? Or is it just the graphic? Auto-reload... hmm... a little too favorable, as much as I'd like it. I sometimes have up to 4000 or so arrows on me at a time; being able to fire continuously without ever touching a stack would be a little unbalanced, IMO. I would like a bit of warning ("Ammo Low" msg when you have 20 left, for instance) but like Sulas says, the invisible bag filled with arrows really does the trick given the current functionality. I keep mine small and hidden in the corner until mouseover, and then I just hover over it and double-click a new stack when I get low. It swaps out the new 99 for a partially-used stack, and I either consolidate the used stacks or let Makeshift Arrows fill them back up over time. I don't wait til I run out, either - I've finally gotten into the habit of checking my ammo while the group buffs before battle, so I'm usually locked and loaded with a fresh clip before I open fire.

While I feel that quivers would be extremely redundant under the current system, a notice would be nice as you are running low on arrows. Ninty percent of the time I easily keep my arrow stock capped off, however there are situations in raids and groups that some sort of warning message should be generated. "As you reach for a (place name of arrow in slot here) you notice that you are running low." This would greatly help those of us who have high responsibility on many tasks during raids. I get frusterated with the missing component message when it diverts my focus unexpectedly. A message like this would provide better functionality. This would also be valued by the other classes for their designated ranged weapon. Linyen Ranger Fires of Heaven
