![]() I've been surprised at how much I have to pay for poison in T5 on Butcherblock. I thought it was bad enough when T4 common damage poisons went up to 2+ gold per vial, but I got to T5 and I'm seeing poisons for 8g or more just for common damage poisons - not even legendary stuff. I'm still hoping to find a good T5 alchemist who's willing to cut me a deal if I provide them with ongoing business - maybe 4-5g per vial instead of 8g or more. It's just ridiculous to pay that much, given that I'm using around two vials of poison per week. Another part of the problem is that there are so few alchemists making T5 poisons. I look on the Butcherblock broker and see the same three or four crafters putting up poisons in my tier, and you can see how they'd easily end up fixing prices - maybe not intentionally or through deliberate coordination, but if you barely have any competition, why would any of them choose to charge that much less? They have us scouts by the balls; they know we NEED poison, and our only other option is to continue using T4 poisons. Anyway, hoping my colleagues can help us all develop a broader frame of reference regarding poison costs. Thanks!

Hm. Well if my memory serves, I've seen T5 poison on Lavastorm for something in the 2g area. But take that with a grain of salt - I don't really shop for poison. (My alchemist alt makes it for me.)

![]() God, I'd love 2g for a T5 damage poison. Even 4g would be acceptable. But 8g??? Throw me a frickin' bone here! Anyone else?

![]() Sry Jay my only experiences so far are with tier3 poisons. And I get twelve (4x 3 seperate ones (2 legendary, 1 common x4)) for 6gp from my alchemist on Bayle. *roughly 50sp a piece if you break it down* When I get to t5 I will post up if the thread is still around...

I sell them for 1g on Guk. Normal ones, that is. I may have to raise the price on the lacquer based ones due to a shortage of raws. There was only 1 (one) available for 75s on one of the days I was crafting recently - needless to say I went without and waited :smileytongue:

![]() 2g is a great price for T5 player made poisons. Lets do a cost analysis vs. reward for PC made poisons. We all know how much better player made poisons are than NPC sold poisons and if we could, we'd use nothing but the player made. Since player made poisons have 7 charges with 200 procs each, I seem to only have to use a charge when I revive from a death. One vial will often last me through a complete level. If the loot gods are good to me, I can make 2g in one hour of soloing, two hours at the most and that is if I sell all the drops to an NPC Merchant. I'm not sure what the poisons on my server cost. Scouts in my guild do not pay for poisons so I haven't looked enough times to notice a trend, but 2g seems to be a very fair price for T5. I'd gladly pay 2g.

Man, this is killin me - 2g for common T5 would be fantastic, I can only hope I'll finally arrange for somethat will bring my costs even remotely close to this. I'm still using up the rest of my T4 stuff, only breaking out the one T5 vial I have when doing harder T5 content or raiding. The legendary T5 that Khalan gave me as a 40th b-day gift is only for that very special someone, like Fyst. When you care enough to send the very best... Translucent Torrent of the Ages!

![]() As an alchemist, I try to charge 5x the fuel costs for common poisons and usually they seem to always be the cheapest on the boards. Right now I'm only a level 27 alchemist, but I think I'll try to keep it at that as I level towards the top tiers. I know I could charge more, but I try to keep my prices fair enough for both me and the consumer. |

Translucent Beholder was 11GP and change on Antonia Bayle. It was 10GP before the broker commission.

![]() Hi Kaeros: Part of the problem may be that some of the Alchemists are not sure what poisons would actually be used by the Scout class. I have actually spoken to Narsan about this and received some really helpful information in this regard. I am a level 29 (soon to be 30) Alchy on Butcherblook. I have bought all the appropriate recipe books (including some of the Advanced ones) and I would be willing to provide Scouts with reasonably priced poisons if I knew which ones they would be looking for. I have never played a Scout class, so unfortunately when I look in my recipe book the poisons and potions don't really mean much to me. Any insight or suggestions that you or any of the other posters here could provide to me would be gratefully appreciated. Please feel free to discuss my offer with Narsan, or to send me a message via Norrathian mail or send me tell when you see me in game (most weekends from very early to very late or periodically in the evenings during the week - usually Mon, Wed or Fri).

![]() Narsan: no, who is Clarah? Have you mentioned her to me somehow, or is she just an alchemist you happen to know? Alfreya: thanks for the response and the offer. Unfortunately you're too low to make the poison I'm looking for (I'm 40 and need the tier 5 goodness), and I think you'd need to be level 40 alchemist or higher. Not sure. As for the poisons that scouts are looking for, it depends on the situation and the scout. A great resource for alchies and scouts alike is www.eq2alchemy.com. In general, different poisons are useful in different situations, and some scouts prefer certain poisons over others. But in every tier, the common damage poisons are basically organized along a spectrum, with the direct up-front damage (DD) at one end, and the damage-over-time (DoT) at the other. Some poisons, like Rancorous Affliction, are a very small amount of DD but a very large DoT. These generally seem to cause the most total damage, but they also require the most time to proc all that damage. Other poisons, like Irrepressible Vexation, are a very high amount of DD up front, and a very small DoT proc. Those poisons may cause less total damage in the long run, but they don't require the targeted mob to live long enough to deliver their entire payload. I personally favor the high-DD poisons for everyday use. High DoT poisons are better for named ^^ mobs, epic targets, and raids, IMO. I tend to carry both on me at all times. Debuff poisons are another story altogether. Debuff poisons generally reduce resistances or abilities. A common debuff that lots of scouts like is the poison that can reduce the enemy's resistance to poison. Since a debuff and a damage poison will stack, this can be very useful for a variety of targets in many situations. Other debuff poisons can reduce heat and cold resistance, magic resistance, strength, stamina, attack speed, and so on. Hope this helps, Alfreya. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread.

![]() I sent a tell about her. You had asked how Stormie was treating me and I mentioned that Clarah had made me X amount of T4 poison for X amount of gold. She's a level 41 Alchy/50 Mystic, who has been providing me with T4 poisons. Great prices and she's been delivering to me the very next day. (Sorry Alf, I needed poisons and couldn't wait). |

common poison prices on Crushbone are usually 6g, rare poisons seem to hover around the 18g mark, rather expensive I think, though great incentive to lvl my alchemist.

Data point: So true to my word, I put some poisons up for sale a week or two ago. Withering spirit is a good T5 so I stuck to that one. Someone else had some for sale at 3g so I priced them at 3g too, thinking it was pretty reasonable and feeling that 3g was worth my effort as well. Result: they do sell, but slowly. Maybe on the order of 5 a week? Some nights one or two sell, most nights none. I'm not sure if folks are just not used to being able to buy them or what. I can say that I've been pushing my alchemist up a little - the array of poisons and potions available is big, and there are a lot of nice things for your bag of tricks. My only concern is where to put them all.

Hmmm thats a nice price, I wish it was the same on Crushbone, but I seem to have a poison vial of endless charges, it dates back to when you had to use potions from the next tier above your toon and has been sitting in my bank vault for sometime. Since I got into the 40's I have used it twice now with out the charges going down. Its a large dd, cant remember its name, but now I wish I had a debuff dating back to then as well
