![]() Here is part 2 of my petition that i would like to send to the Devs. This is a BIG one so i doubt i will ever see this implimented or even considered at all. Some of us are upset that our DPS is a little bit off. Kagara gave us an interesting view of this in a post of how a fighter due to strength has the change of doing more damage with a bow then us. That is if they get a hit on the target actually. This does not include our specials... Well Why dont they just change the way we do damage. B4 I fully explain i just want to say that this is not a plea to change the way we do our attacks but more of what our attacks affect. I think our attacks should affect STATS more then do DAMAGE but have the appearance of doing DAMAGE to Health and Power. Explanation best served in an example. ShadowBlade:Instead of just some nice high damage and a stun affect or light defense debuff. Shadowblad should be specific to a Body STAT and Meter Preferably Power. By successfully hitting shadowblade. The enemy Agility. Several of these hitting can in terms cause some serious damage on them by Reducing Agility, There Defense reduces As well. Lower agility means Parries and Dodges are less affective as well. Wounding Arrow: By Wounding the enemy with this shot. Their Stamina or constitution STAT is reduced. Because their STAT reduces their Health Meter Reduces Also accordingly. Making it Look like we did Heavy Damage. What does this Give Rangers and Scouts in general. The main thing is that A battle becomes now a game of chess more then just Button mashing. Our skills now do ok. But if we can better Focus our attacks. Then we truly begin to enjoy the complexity. of Battle. I would like the chance to form a strategy where I can HeadShot a Runecaster, Causing his Intel and POwer meter to drop and Quick Strike the Brawler With them to Reduce His Strength and Attack. Then just Do general Damage. That way we can calculate how best to attack a mob and gain the most advantage in a battle with them. After all isnt a scout about observing the situation and best manipulating to their advantage. Thank you Message Edited by faranthil on 01-18-2005 06:43 PM

![]() So we should totally change the structure of encounters and how damage is delt by rangers and scouts thus changind the entire structure of the game?.... You're right, I don't think this will be touched on by the devs.

![]() Not necessarily the structure of the game itself. But instead of doing heavy damage which is fine dont get me wrong. We would do heavy stat damage. I dont know its just something different....

![]() From a long experience with SoE and EQ, every time there is/was an attempt to "balance" the classes, the classes became more unballanced. My best advice, play the game, have fun and don't worry about who does the most damage. No matter what class you are playing, some class has something better. Should SoE implement your suggestions you would get the following results. ranger_x does 1 point of melle damage and reduces MOb_Y agility by 1. ranger_x's hate is increased by 10,0000 ranger _x dies a horrible death while tank_01 laughs uncontrolably at ranger_x. From my experiences with SoE, all I have to say is my ranger is perfect; please don't try to make him better. The game is not about DPS, Healing, running, hiding, tanking, kiting,...it is about having fun. Have fun
