Found Silver Piece: Which to upgrade?

Alright, I got extremely lucky ( SMILEY

) and mined some silver. When grouped, I use Shadow Blade the most (solo, well, all of them equally I guess). Therefore, I'm assuming it would be best to get an Adept 3 Shadow Blade scroll. However, as a ranger, I'm going to get more and more strong ranged attacks. Should I wait for these? Is it wise to update a lvl 10 skill to adept 3 when you are a lvl 21 ranger?Thanks for any help,-Han0522(Alexa on AB)

I am in the same position as you. I get some good 270s with shadowblade, but after upgrading to Backshot adept I, I do comparable damage. Not better, but close. My problem with upgrading Shadowblade is; it will be getting old soon. I'd rather upgrade Impale because i think it will be more useful even later in the game. Thats just MO tho.

Yeah I'd look at the spell tree and get adept III for something you'll get in a few levels...be much more useful I would think...unless they bump the silver pops.

Just thought of what you should upgrade....Makeshift arrow.

I updated mine to II and get 15 arrows per use...would imagine III is 20 so adept III could potentialy be 35+....thats alot of free carbonite arrows SMILEY

I would stick with later skills as well..Hrm.. I really need to upgrade my makeshift arrows. lol. Next time I get a little more coin in my purse.

later skills will use a different tradeskill recipe which most likely comes from tier 3 mining (TS/nek +) so your silver may not upgrade a particular skill.

Upgrading Shadowblade is pointless as at 24 i think the skill is replaced with Shadowlunge (use 1 both reset) if you can get shadow lunge updated or maybe Shrouded Strike or Shadowflame (they should be your most used skills in groups as you can chain them)

I have been gather TS stuff a lot, so ended up with two Adept IIIs in the 10 to 19 range.

I juudged what to make based on

1) Rarity of Adept I runes in that range

2) What I could use at the time

3) Ego

In the end I went for

Shadowblade - which I have been very happy with. Hitting for over 400 is a nice way to make other rogue classes weep, even most assassins.

Bleed - I didn't see any upgrade for this in the near future, and it pretty much guarantees it can't be overwritten by others

Thanks for the suggestions.I think I'm going to go with Shadowblade since it is the one 10-19 skill I use all the time.I'm also seeing how valuable upgrading makeshift arrows will be. So I'm keeping close to the brokers.However, OT, has anyone else noticed a sharp decline in damage and hit success with specials? Last night I was hitting for 200s ... this afternoon, 120 was the highest I could get. Anyway, thanks ..-Han0522

I found a Makeshift Arrows Adept 1 on the market last night, and was thrilled to find that I am now picking up 30 arrows at a time. Unless Adept 3 gives you something more than just more arrows, I do not know that I would bother spending the money on Adept 3 for this skill. Getting Makeshift Apprentice 1 caused me to go from using about 200 arrows a day to not having to buy arrows anymore. At Apprentice 2, I have not had any problem keeping a surplus of 200 arrows or so by just gathering arrows whenever I thought of it. Now that I can gather 30 in a shot, I cannot imagine having a problem keeping up with my arrow use even as I get more Archery skills.

Yeah, I've been looking for an upgrade to that one. But in the meantime, I hit "Makeshift arrows" every time it comes up. I have 99 equipped, and three stacks of 99 in my inventory. Works well.-Han0522
