I've decided since i end up usually soloing about 70-80% of the time that i'm gonna go down the Sta line and go Shield and 1hnder.  Was just wondering if anyone has had a chance to test this line out at all.

In all honesty, I debated doing this skill tree for myself.  I play as the MT dirge on raids some of the time, and the added defense would help out against barrages that you might get hit with.  plus the extra resists that you can get from the shields is an added bonus.  When in the MT group, you aren't really concentrating on doing dps, so just having a one-hander wouldn't be bad.  also, isn't the fourth skill down a double attack anyhow?  almost like having dual wield.  Since you solo most of the time, you could probably put more points into it than I would.  I would probably put 4 points into each, cause the last skill if I remember right isn't all that great.  Isn't that one the group  stealth that lasts for all of 2 minutes or something.  (not at home, so can't look at my own tree.)  Anyhow, as a soloing dirge, it is an excellent idea to go down this line.  just my 2 cp

Actually (I just had this discussion with someone!  Deja Vu!) the only reason I am not going down the Stamina line is due to it really being focused on the bard, and not the bard's group.  It's a great soloing line, and if I were going to focus on my solo or alt-tank ability, there would be no contest.  And due to the double attack option (you have to max it to make this work), you actually DO do dual wield damage with 1 weapon and shield.  How can you go wrong?  Plus the chance to proc on both swings in a double attack on a slow 1hander (assuming that's possible, it very much depends on how they implelented the double attack) means that you may even do MORE.

As the primary dirge in my guild, I'm focusing elsewhere.  My soloing dirge on test will *absolutely* be on the stamina line, just for munchkining the solo route.

This is based on numbers comparison and not on actual play-test yet.  Your mileage may vary.
