Positional Attacks Whilst Soloing?

Ok, so as a dirge I get a few positional attacks - not many, admittedly.

Is there any way of using these whist soloing?

Cos I've tried using the Cheap shot, stop auto-attack whilst casting, run round the side of the mob and use flank attack method - however, normally I get the 'This attack will only work from the flank or back' type message cos the mob has already recovered and is now happily tring to kick the crap out of me again.

I see predator types and rogue types doing this and was wondering if us dirges could do it and it's just me not being very good at it, or whether we can't really use these attacks whilst soloing.

Also is cheap shot the only stun we have, or have I missed a really useful spell/combat art in there somewhere?

The same question applies for sneak attacks as well.

I'm using Cheap Shot for getting my flanking attack landed while soloing .. i don't do it very often, but it works.

Chep shot can be used to pull off the flanking attack, as soon as you hit it (while it's casting) turn off auto attack, as soon as it lands run into the left or right hand side of the mob quickly turn and hit your flanking attack. If it's a small mob you can just run at it and jump over, you should have more than enough time to land it if your quick. Cheap shot is the only real stun we have that can be used in this way yet it works upto 50. Sneak attacks can only be used while in stealth and we don't have an in-combat stealth, the first stealth we get used to work in-combat (no idea if it still does) but it's slow and you may not have time to use it by cheap shotting then stealthing while solo. I've used it in the past while in groups though but it takes so long to cast it's almost pointless trying to pull it off.

Its the method I use too, it just doesn't always work. Sometimes you can perform the technique fine, but the mob resists the cheapshot etc, I also think the DoT attributed to one of our melee attacks can interfere with cheapshot breaking it before the flank attack has time to go off.

It often works fine however.

Yes, The Dark Song Blade line will break definately break the cheapshot, something I suspect the OP is experiencing.

Both of our DoT lines will break the stun. Since the flanking attack will autoface us though, I don't bother trying to go around the mob... I just run right through it.

I suspect it was likely that my DoTs were breaking it thinking about it SMILEY , I will have to turn though cos I hate auto-face and have it turned off - it got me killed a lot more than it ever helped me SMILEY .

I'll be practising this manouvre over the next week or so me thinks SMILEY

Woot, I tried numerous times last night and it worked SMILEY SMILEY , I can finally use my flank attack while soloing SMILEY - I actually got it to work about 16 times out of 20 so I was well impressed - I'm hoping it wans't just that I picked mobs that were very suseptical (I think thats the work I'm looking for-though it might be spelt wrong) to my stun lol.
