Why did they nerf the troub-dancing-fluff spell?

Beats me.  I mean honestly, no clue why.

However the new spell, since it lasts forever, is nice for annoying group members.  I call it Sentinel Mk. II  :p

It simply shoots fireworks off the group member you cast it on. I miss the dancing, nothing upsets a dark elf necro more than forcing him to dance.Aerlinn Angulglir40th Troubadour of QeynosAB Server

I still want to know who thought taking away the dance was a good idea.  And send that someone an envelope full of Robin Hood bleached flour.  :smileymad:

Agree that this was a very odd change! Although its only fluff, it was the only half decent fluff troubadours had. Now we have two exploding effects and high elf disguise. Hmph, I would have thought bards would have been one of the easier classes to think of fluff spells for :smileywink:

Are the level 50 & level 20 fluff spells now identical? Perhaps its just a bug & both spells are triggering the same effect? (as a lvl38 troub I wouldn't know)

The level 20 fluff uses the same firework explosion that accompanied the dance previously, while the level 50 fluff is a blue glowy thing that can only be cast on yourself. Both are equally rubbish and make no sense for the class :smileytongue:

Honestly I don't know why we can't just whip out our lute and drum until cancelled for our fluff spells. The animation and audio are already there, it would make sense as a bard fluff spell, and would create an added distinction to troubadours and dirges. I chose the class partly on roleplay grounds as I wanted to be a minstrel, IMO being able to actually play instruments for more than 2-3 seconds would be an excellent roleplay tool.

Agreed if they were going to get rid of one it should be the high elf illusion(I am not an illusionist) nor do I ever care to look like a high elf.  Would love them to put back the dance way it was before and go with a self drumming or instrument playing instead of the elf illusion.  I am a dark elf, no way would I be caught dead as a high elf.

My coercer gets a ratonga illusion, just great my coercer is a ratonga thanks for the help.  I know its fluff and not the end of world just things I would like to see.

They took away the dancing? What a stupid thing to alter...

There's broken content, very few decent emotes... And they take away dancing from a fun spell?

It is awful that the forced emotes from other classes are still working, but we cannot make others dance anymore.

Secondly, I think the stupid fireworks should be altered.

I accidentally turned on this spell on a member of my party while my particle effects were on low, so I didnt see it happening. It greatly annoyed them and caused them to log/relog until they realized it was coming from me.

It annoys everyone.  My roomie said "turn it the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] off or I'm coming through there and hitting you."  Everyone in my guild agrees that it's a load of crap and that while I was occasionally a bit annoying with the old dance emote it was something they'd grown to chuckle at.  The only thing this new abortion's any good for is giving the victim - because it's no longer about a target, being as objectionable an effect as it is - a headache or siezures.

I've been saying we need this for a while.  As of right now its very difficult to RP a bard since we can't have an instrument in hand for more than 3 sec.  :smileysad:
