I was just wondering how much easier a troubador makes a groups' life at different level ranges. I would guess that at higher levels you become more valuable by reducing downtime and buffing etc. Not that you don't do that at any level, but that it becomes more appreciated on the high-end. Is this true? I only ask because I am considering deleting my 15 Pred and restarting as a bard. I like the scout class, but as a Predator I feel more like a wanna-be fighter where the bard seems like a more unique and defined role. Any thoughts are much appreciated!

I never had a problem getting a group at any level really. I think being higher level it may seem easier to get groups, but that to me is mainly because I have been playing long enough and mostly leveling at the same pace as alot of people and I have built a decent reputation. I have added people to my friends list and they have added me to theirs. When they look for people to fill groups, I may be one of the person's who receive an invite etc.I haven't played a different scout class. I did play a Magician/Summoner for a while, but a pet controlling class just wasn't my cup of tea so to speak. I have enjoyed my Bard/Troubador since beta and plan to do so for a long time. You mention deleting your character now to start a Bard? All your 4 slots used up for something else? I don't know if I would delete my current main to try anohter class, so was just curious.

At early levels it was fairly hard to get groups just because people at those levels tend to view bards as "extras" in a group. However, i'm 36 at the moment and rarely have my lfg flag up for more than 5 mins without getting a couple invites. Bards are very group friendly and as more and more players of other classes learn how much we can increase the overall effectiveness of a group, we will be even more in demand than we are now. Good luck with it if you decide to make one. I for one have no regrets. =)

![]() I rarely have trouble finding a group, as has been said it is a very group orientated subclass. You may have some trouble with the more ignorant folks; I've lost count of the number of players who think bards (among other classes) are useless because the effects of tanks/healers are more immediately obvious. You don't want to group with them anyway! Most folks will be happy to take on a troubador as they realise the benefits of the buffs, and from experience bards are reasonably uncommon compared to the predator subclasses so you may stand out when groups look to see who is LFG.

![]() Had trouble for a while in my late 30s because I had outlevelled a majority of the playerbase. Took some time off to let people catch up, did some quests and such. Now I am 45, and I have no problems getting groups. Often I even get asked if I am grouped or want a group somewhere else when I am already in one. I rarely take time out to do solo quests or craft, both because I love to group, but also because the group invite tells can drive you nuts

![]() I was having problems near the beginning of the game's release. Now that people know how awesome it is to have a troubador in a group, I have no problems at all getting a group. I picked up Provisionering as a hobby while I was LFG and sometimes I switch on LFG and get frustrated because I cannot get any skill ups in Provisionering before getting an invite. ![]()

![]() Im currently a 35 Troubador and I think it got alot easier as your level increases, just because you have grouped with more people and if your good at playing your class they will remeber that and ask you to join future groups.

![]() I find groups alot, you need to know your buffs how they work and when and where to use the different buffs, Also it is a great help to know the other characters in your group and the buffs they can do and the healer's in your group as well cause you might now need some of your regens depending on the hearlers Troubador can be really complicated or really basic depending on how you treat it will will depend on if you get asked back to groups.

![]() I find is very easy to find/make groups during prime times; I find it very difficult to find/make groups off-hours.

![]() Up to about lvl 23 I had difficulties getting groups but beyond that ive not had trouble at all and since lvl 30 I ve been getting ppl I've never met before sending me tells for groups when i dont even have flag up. This leads me to believe the higher lvl people have grouped with troubs, seen the difference we make to groups so much that theyre starting to do a /who all troub search before doing a who all lfg. How cool is that ![]() Being a fairly uncommon class helps too, I been lvling fairly slow (more of a quester than a grinder type player) yet im still only the 14th troubador on my server to reach lvl 34. ![]() It only gets easier, ![]() Spent most of my budding youth as a troub forming my own groups and making them work around me to show them the versatility and effectiveness of my class even at lower levels. From 35+ I nenver spent more than a few minutes to a half hour LFG no matter the hours of play, if a group doesnt recognise what an asset you are, you're better off without em if they have the spot and dont suck you up immediately ^^; Cheers. ![]() Read it and weep, major nerf of bard stat buffs is in on test. One star me all you like but it won't change the fact that the people complaining in the spells board about agility buffs got their wish. Message Edited by killzone on 01-28-2005 08:14 PM |
