Can anyone give some tips on timing stun at the start of a duel?  When dueling other scouts it's all about the first stun, and i can't seem to get the timing down:smileysad:

Also, any other tips would be appreciated

alot of luck goes into getting the first stun off, it has a 0.5 second cast time, so no room for error, if you find you are always late to get that first stun off, look at your other skills, dueling is about working things out for yourself and getting your own style and technique.

I find its better to try to time stealth so you end up stealthing right when the timer starts.   Since they probably won't have see stealth, it will drop their target and you will be able to target them and stun before they can.  Of course, if you do this a few times they will try to do the same thing, so be careful who you use it on.  Other than that it just comes down to who has a faster connection or any other tricks up their sleeve.

If your opponent steals your tactic of invising right at the start, you should use brilliant swathe at the beginning instead.

i find the gambit line works better with the lower cast time.  Also i think they nerfed the throwback on brilliant swath lately, when pvp first came out, in the arena i'd use it and their group would visibly get thrown back, now it's more of just a knockdown :smileymad:

I've tried stealthing at 2 seconds before and have never had good luck with it, but will practice some more to get it down.  But any room of error against another damage scout at 55+ means certain death if they get their stun off

Also, I was wondering if anyone wouldn't mind sharing their hotbar setup for pvp situations.  I love my current setup for solo/group/raids but I think using the same setup in pvp is holding me back.

Thanks for responding all, and thanks for any further tips.

EDIT-

I changed my mind, just noticed the advantage of brilliant swathe if used at the right time, thanks for the tip :smileywink:
