Tendrils of Fear - How Can I Turn It Off?

I just got this spell and the graphic is about to give me a seizure, is there a way to turn it off? I tried various stuff under options but no dice.

Click the hotbar icon again and it should turn off. if not, find the icon for it in the maintained spell list, right click, and turn it off.

Sorry, I just want to kill the graphic, not the spell itself.

I can't answer your question but... Im surprised you want the effect off. I always hear people asking what the cool effect is of Tendrils - and love it when I cast it on them in a group SMILEY

Course since I have it on me when I am soloing or not grouping, I always have the wicked second shadow shift occuring all the time and since only have defilers have that effect... Well tis great for my char anyway SMILEY

Maybe I'm getting the shadow shift thing then. It also shows up when I cast it on my wifes wizard though.

Basically it is really really hard to look at to the point where I can't tell if its a graphics glitch or what, but it happens on two separate machines for either character. When we're duoing she won't even let me cast it on her lol.

edit "I always hear people asking what the cool effect is of Tendrils " -- what is it supposed to look like when its working properly anyway?

/hi turns off graphical illusions. I used it alot on my SK back when of our buffs turned us into a skeleton. Cool effect but the maniacal giggle every time I swung the sword wore thin fast.

I'm already using /hi so I dont see the wraith form illusion, it doesnt work for Tendrils.

Nope hide illussion does not turn it off. Nothing does short of not using the spell at all. Sorry SMILEY

Yes - I have hide on for the most part to get rid of wraith form but tendrils effect still shows... for the poster asking.. its the momentary shimmer and you see a second 'you' flicker behind you.. thats it SMILEY

I love the questions I get about that spell. I was in poets a few weeks ago with my normal SK tanking (keep in mind I'm usually grouepd with him and usually have that spell on him)

he stops the entire group for about 5 min and kept asking every few seconds "what is that" "there it is again" "don't you guys see that" "wait there it is again"

By the time I finally stop laughing I explain to him its my buff on him. I don't know how he has grouped with me for a few months and never noticed it before but was quite funny when he thought he was going crazy and seeing things.

btw to the orginal poster, I have no idea how to turn it off. I can't stand it when I'm soloing and hate having it on me. It would be nice if there was a way you could turn it off.

most graphics "scale" in the game to the performance setting. if he tanked on "extreme perfomance" he might have not noticed it. i think Tendrils starts to display at the next setting up. it's REAL pronounced visually on balanced.
