I was fighting a mob's pet trying to take it out of the fight early and as my HP dropped, I tried to imply heal keeping the pet targeted but it failed and gave me message "target not a friend" or something like that. So I guess they consider the pet is fighting through the mob so the implied heal would be trying to go to the mob? This seems wacky to me. Anyway just fyi for anyone that didn't notice this so you don't waste a few deaths like I did. Bulzie - Fury Wandering Souls

Its been a while since i have solo'd a mob with a pet, but I'm fairly sure that if you take out the head, the body dies as well. Don't waste time on the pets mang, kill the main and the pet will simply vanish

yes that is correct killing the main kills the pet. However, implied targetting with pets doesnt work the other way either. I have a summoner friend where if his pet is tanking and I have the mob targetted I can't heal assuming it will target his pet. If you want to help heal a pet, you have to target it directly. Also cant target pet in order to attack its target (which for the most part doesnt matter, as summoner usually is targetting the mob as well)

Yes, killing the master will kill the pet. But in this instance, the pet was doing too much dmg and was a blue compared to a white^ of the mob. I had already died 4 times trying various ways to take out mob first. Once I was able to kill pet off, then i took mob down with no problem. But the point is to make people aware of how implied targeting works when dealing with mob pets for those that might not have known.

FYI - this was fixed in LU#7. The pet now has implied targetting. Verax
