Hello all I am a lvl 16 cleric and I must decide if I want to be a Templar or Inquisitor I have been been reading alot about the spells that each get and trying to get info off the boards. But now I want to know why do you say Inquisitor is better choice? What are the ups and downs of the Inquisitor class and do you find that your more useful in groups than Templar? Thanks for any advice as to why Inquisitor class is a good choice, will be posting on Templar forums too to get a good comparison. EDIT: Forgot to mention, if it matters, that I will alawys be a duo with a zerker so soloing will be minimum and my main grouping will be with a zerker, sk, swash, and ranger.

Templar an Inqui are realy close. I'll try to show the differences out of my view: - Inqui has the better solo reaktives and Templar ther better group reaktives. - Most Inqui spells include a smal debuff or damage komponent and most Templar spells include a smal heal or buff komponent - Inqui has more debuffs and Templar has more buffs. - Most Inqui damage spells are DOTs and most Termplar damage spells are DDs. - Inquis only get one Group Cure and Templars can take all. (A Bonus for the Templar at Raids.) - There are a lot more Templars then Inquis (Some people even do not know, that Inquis are Clerics

![]() Crosses fingers that this'll change in the combat changes (no, I don't want templars nerfed, I want those group cures :p)

I'm fairly certain a change is coming this way with the revamp. Not sure what yet, but I am hopeful.

![]() Hey Keeg, Welcome to HoT. Glad you're onboard. I too have a healer in the works. I was planning on making her an Inquisitor because I don't see a lot of them. I usually like the novelty roles, so a dark elf Inquisitor I created. I am a concerned about the lack of group cures. I want them, but I also don't have to have a run of the mill Templar (I love my Templar friends, I wouldn't leave home without them), but they are very common. I've also thought of re-rolling a Defiler since they too are uncommon, and they have at least 1 or 2 more group cures than Inquisitor. Any advice here, or encouragment to play my Inquisitor vs betraying to Qeynos, or would a Defiler be in higher demand? Thanks! Jaale Frostfire Hands of Time 50 Wizard, Oggok |

![]() Thunder, I would definately go inquisitor over defiler. I am very happy with inquisitor, and I believe that currently we are one of the most balanced classes in the game (now if only we could get the damage shield on our reactives fixed... we'd be THE balanced class), and I have been incredibly pleased with how well my inquisitor has turned out. To answer your questions, an inquisitor is generally in greater demand than a defiler, for the primary reason that as a decent healer, inquisitors can solo heal in a group much like a templar and warden. I have yet to see a defiler (or mystic) that can handle solo healing in areas that are up to par in difficulty. To answer the group cures question, I believe that we will be seeing more group cures after the combat revamp, and have been told by some folks with soe that a priest revamp is being planned for shortly after the melee combat revamp. I honestly have not missed group cures all that much, though I am glad to have the group poison cure. I guess group elemental damage cure would be nice... All in all, I am very pleased with my inquisitor, and wouldn't trade myself in for any other class if given the opportunity. Sure, people whine in this forum about how this or that is wrong with us, but seriously we have a lot less to complain about than basically anyone else.

![]() Hey Andalla, Thanks for the post. I too have grouped with wardens and shamans and have seen what I considered at the time to be sub-par healing ability for the difficulty level of what our group was doing. This isn't to say that the healer in question wasn't a skilled player, but rather that the class itself wasn't capable, or was overtaxed for the situation. I have been spoiled to have regular templars as my healers (and they know I appreciate them too) so I thought I would compliment them with an inquisitor. What really made templar stand apart from the rest was grouping in Runnyeye in my 30's. I'd been inside with each class type (cleric, druid, shaman) and I found the success of the group was higher when a cleric was the healer. The druid and shaman in that level range was pretty hard pressed to keep us up. From other threads I gather that warden's come out on top of the healing game, but since I've hit 50, I haven't taken my warden friend out for a spin to Nek 2. Thanks for the info, Jaale Frostfire, 50 Wizard Navyna, 11 Cleric Hands of Time, Oggok |

![]() I wouldn't say any one particular class comes out on top in the healing game but wardens are definitely powerful healers. However they are far less resistant to beat down than we are (the typical warden will not survive WoF while we usually can). They also pull more hate with regens than we do with reactives, we can cast reactives all day long on the tank and not even get a second glance from the mobs while a chain casting warden runs the chance of angering adds or the main mob itself. In the cases of raiding its good to have a balance, wards eat at lot of the damage, reactives hit the overflow from the ward, and regens get the rest. Having too many of 1 type of healer class is usually a bad thing and makes healing considerably more difficult. As far as templar vs inquisitor, most high end raiding guilds will have 2 or 3 templar on a raid and only 1 inquisitor. Mostly because you only need 1 inquisitor to maintain single target reactives on the main tank and all the debuffs on the targeted mob while you usually need 2 templar to maintain group reactive on the main tank because of its long recast time. Of course this all depends on the mob, several of the instanced raid mobs are weak enough 1 cleric of either class can heal an entire raid (i.e. drayek, rog, any of the x2 contested and so on). Even without mana regen gear, this is pretty easy to do with clarity/insight and with mana regen gear you'll probably start eyeing your DoTs just because you're bored:smileytongue:.

![]() Hi Fellow Inquisitors I thought I might add my thoughts on being an Inquisitor too. I chose Inquisitor a long time ago becasue I wanted to be a High Ellf Cleric, but my friends played in Freeport. And I can honestly say that I have never regreted that decision. All of the healing classes have their own strengths and weaknesses, but Inquisitors are a diverse, complex, and varied class. We heal, we debuff, and we look darn good in plate One thing I have to say though about raiding. I raid.. ALOT .. I belong to a static raid group , all from different guilds. There are 4 Inquisitors in our raid force, and we are always busy. I agree that most raid guilds have only 1 Inquisitor.. their loss in my opinion. The key to having more then one in a raid force is to agree before hand what jobs everyone has. We take turns .. 1 for reactives, 1 for debuffs, 2 to cover the raid ... though there is generally 1 in the MA group.. so their skills are used for general reactives and heals for the MA tank. We have never had a problem with stepping on each other or feeling useless in our raid. We may be lucky that our raid leaders are open minded and look at us a healers first, class second. Thats not to say we are in the MT group..that is generally for Templars, Mystics and Wardens. Its what works for us . But I enjoy the flexibility of not haviing to cast the same heal over and over again to be useful as debuffs are equally as important. Having said all of that .. I am a very happy, satisfied Inquisitor. I would'nt change the decision I made in November
