Templar Hats coming in LU 24 - June 14th

Hey all, it appears our class hat is finally going to be added, in the LU 24 update.

Additionally, a number of things will be joining Update 24 that we had originally planned on including with 25. This set you'll be able to see on Test Server starting this week and next:

Broker System -- A number of improvements to the way that Brokers work, including being able to list some items directly at the broker.
Commonlands and Nektulos -- As time passes, the world changes. The next chapter involving the orcs, dervishes, and Thexians unfolds. As a part of this new chapter in Norrath's history, expect improvements in content, visuals, and navigation.
Profession Hats -- Berserkers, Dirges, Guardians, and Templar class-specific hats will be available.
Tailored Clothing Additions -- More diversity in what people can wear.

Does this mean that Plate Helm of the Ether will get a new graphic, or another templar hat will be introduced?

My understanding is that the Plate Helm of the Ether is NOT the class hat. It has a finished graphic (whatever you may think of it). It is Hoo Loo's hat that has the placeholder artwork, and I presume the equivalent dropped legendary templar only helm (haven't seen one myself).The sad thing is, that given the delay and the Hoo Loo inferiority to the Ether one, it will only be used as a backup by a lot of Templars, even assuming its as glorious looking at some of the other classes hats.On the other hand, if its as ugly as the Paladins one for example, it will go straight into backup armour bags.

LOL...Man back in UO the bear hats were all the rage. Heck my Mage/Tamer wore a deer hat. (sometimes...when he wasnt wearing his uber [Removed for Content] hat)Hehe...is it blaphemy to talk about UO in an EQ forum?

I jsut got the Firebrand Helm last night. I assumed this was our class hat although nothing would make me happier than to see a better helm for templars drop.

I think it looks fantastic, actually. The detail on the top and back of the helm is pretty nice. I'll get some more shots to show what I mean.

It doesn't look bad, though I'll have to see it on my wood elf before making a final judgement. One other question though, which helms will change to this graphic? I know Hoo'loh's will, but what about the templar one that drops in vaults, or the templar relic helm, will they change as well?

the tackiest hat i have yet to see, sorry............... can we get a lil more thought into it other then taking the top part of a helm and changing it and not working the entire graphic to look a little more appealing SMILEY

....... I could think of a couple of off the top of my head that hat reminds me of........ =/ like on kendrick above looks like he needs to unroll the rest of what was placed on his head.

I appreciate the effort on the part of the art guy on the helm. After hearing about how long it takes to do it, I doubt they'll be changing it.Not my style really but thats okay, some people will dig it and I prefer no helm anyway.As to our raid drop helm, I assume it is the fire brand, which is sad. I've never seen a templar helm and compared to some of the other classes fabled specific helms, its pretty weak.Regardless, I'm not going to go off about raid loot again =D
