![]() So I love lifeburn, can't wait to test out the new debuff pet, was bugged in Beta but hopefully fixed now and almost all of the changes so far I am enjoying (except for the stupid mount reverse speed grrr) but the absolute #1 best part of this entire expansion is the sheer amount of undead running around! I have a master 1 control undeath that rarely saw use, overthe last two weeks I have used this wonderful spell more times than I can think of. the trick is to charm a caster or healer, same as it is for coercers (my other toon) and wow my DPS is up now, in CoV and MM I can not only increase my DPS but my crowd control went from weak to neccesary, solo is a breeze now, just keep up one of the DPS pets and the charmed one will usually take all the damage leaving you with a full health pet when the charmed dies, so nice. This is the best ever since I am a pet class player, if they gots pets I done love em and now my necro can fake being a necercer, my two favorite classes combined into one super rat-bieng! Mwahahahahaha.....

![]() Okay lets get a list up and going of which mobs are charmable, which zone they are in and which you found to be a good choice to charm whether for its healing, casting, debuffs or good old outright dps. I'll check my list when I get home and add to what is posted beforehand. If we get this happening as a definitive guide I'll request a sticky. Sark.

The original post is here: http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=27&message.id=16295 or for a direct link it is here: http://www.eq2i.com/articles/Coercer_Pets it is still in it's infancy and is going to heavily rely on community participation but I will start going through all the pet types and leave a note on any that are necro charmable, get a nice cross class reference going.

Pre EoF i rarely used the control undeath spell because even at Master i found it broke on any even con or higher mobs within a few minutes. I recently used it as a test in CoV and it seemed to hold a little better but i tended to use it to control adds rather than as a 2nd pet. Has the resisitability on even con and higher mobs been improved or is it as bad as ever?Im using the master by the way, was very unimpressed with the difference pre EoF between master and ad3.

the conhort vampire in CoV are nice to charm they nuke for 2k every 10sec and hit for 600 to 800. they are a nice adition to our CoV dps. as long as the mob you charm is a caster it will be good DPS.

the difference between a master and ad3 are giant when it comes to charm spells, pay absolutely no attention to the spell description, a master charm means that whatever you charm gets all master abilities where an ad3 gets all ad3 abilities, pick the right pet and this is the difference between a pet that nukes for 800 and one that nukes for 1500. also always pick casters, mage or preist pets, any pet with auto attack and CA damage will perform much worse with only a few exceptions. Using this ability along with my stuns actualy got some of my guildies confused thinking my necro was my coercer, I would love to see my coercer do as much DPS, it is realy a good thing that this spell is restricted to undead only since it would be overpowering to the class if it worked on anything, also using a mistmoor censor along with your scout pet is a good way to plow through mobs in loping plains, or the undead preist droags in bonemire, its not only useful for groups.

yesterday in CoV my ad3 charm undead actually lasted the full duration, a 25 min charmed pet. I still have some charms that last 2 or 3 mins but the norm seems to be 5+ mins now making charm much more useful.

since I also play a coercer it is habit for me to max sub when possible, I have gear that adds up to a +11 to sub on my necro and unless I am charming a high yellow or OJ I almost always get more than 10 minutes, white cons or better yet blues last me pretty much full duration every time and still add a decent amount of DPS, generally I keep an extra pet when available, in mistmoor castle I grab one of the solos from the entrance and keep it for a while, only dropping it when we need the crowd control, the important thing is always have the group kill your charmed pet after the fight since it will break a lot in the castle, those vamps don't like you charming them.
