Hi guys,

I'm just wondering if I can tap into the collective knowledge of the board. While I'm keen to get my toon involved in as many quests as possible, I'd also like to know where I can go when I fancy a good ol' XP grind.

So far I'm level 21 and obviously I'm outgrowing the Commonlands, so I'm wondering where to go next? This is mainly for both Solo stuff but I'd be keen to find out where woould be best for solo ventures also.

My thoughts are Nektulos for solo, and Thundering Steppes for group stuff - would that be right? Any information at all regarding where to go for XP grinding would be most appreciated.

Im 39 now so its been a while. I solo'ed in Nek mostely because I like quests and theres lots to do there. Also the exp is good. You don't have to go far in , just over the bridge to find stuff. Theres a merchant there and a couple quest givers . One is on the other side of the river.  In TS you can't get quests unless you get the language primer. Which I don't know what it is. If I had to do it again I'd stay in NekSMILEY

TS is much better than Nek in my opinion.  Open space means its easier to see potential adds and harvesting nodes and TS holds Splitpaw which if you own will make it even quicker to get there (using the teleport shard). Have done TS with both good and evil characters and still found a boatload of quests to do.  Great zone.

Many thanks for the heads up, guys. I'll be all over Nek like a rsh when I get finished with work here (nightshift - bah). Just out of sheer laziness - what's the language primer that one needs to do for TS? I'll go now and look it up but the obvious thing to do is ask about it here too SMILEY

Some of the quests in TS need the barbarian language which is Halasian. Especially the very useful quest to open the bridge keep doors at night.

You can do the Heroic Elephants and Rhinos for good xp into your low to mid 20's... it's constant grindage and will knock out your levels quickly.  Look around Pride Lake... the group Hyenas are good too when everything else is dead.

Yeah I spent a lot of time killing the heroics around the western side of CL.

I think they go up to 18-20ish?

When they get old...head over to TS and hit the riverbed skeletons.  You can even pop your head into Splitpaw once over there and see how you do in there.

I'd hit the beach in Nek for some very fast XP. Lots of crabs, spiders, and pirates. You can also start the quest line from Bruhn K'Viir just as you get to Port Nythax from that path. This quest line gives you some good INT items for that level. The starting quest can be found here - http://eq2.ogaming.com/db/quests/ProveYourself.php.

I had a hell of a time in EWD.  It's empty.  It's all ^/^^/^^^ and if you stick to the right spots there's no threat at all.

I'm finding Stormhold to be quite profitable for my time... Start out in the first entry room (keep to the sides, on the fallen pillars for safety) when that grays out take the second door on the left down to the chessboard, kill skellies and squishies (can't remember their real names, you know the round puffball looking things that get tentacles...) If that's busy then go in any door on the right and do the kitchen area.  I hit 25 last night and too much gray to keep me busy so back up to main room, last door on right head down that way, and into the barracks area where Hess ( I think his name is?) spawns (he's no aggro, and a quest mob, so if you don't have the quest don't kill him lol) Can probably stay in Stormhold til almost 30 when you can head to RoV...(I like dungeons) The xp is great there, and most mobs are heroic which, if you wait to take them on til they're green they're very doable..some areas the mobs a bit weaker you can do blue.  Although the first door on your right, from the main hall -- those mobs are TOUGH and MUCH harder to solo.(although I haven't tried them yet on my necro, that was on a guardian, solo, pre-CU)  Just keep working your way downstairs past what I've described, and keep in mind Torrents are very tough also.  ~Yira
