Thought I'd ask.  I'm a level 49 nec and am having some probs determining what's best.
Thanks

At 45:

  1. Magi Shielding
  2. Teachings of the Undead
  3. Unholy Covenant
  4. Mark of the Miasmic

thanks Seeko

The funny thing is that I was using the same combination until 49 when I got adept 1 for aspect of the undead.  I was too embarrased to say that I am STILL using Magi's Shielding since it's such a low level spell.  Does this seem right?

Not sure. I'm no hardcore player but at level 31 this is what I use:

1. Mark of the Miasmic
2. Favor of the Fallen
3. Gift of the Magi
4. Camaturs Energizing Aura

Don't know if this is the best combination or anything, it's just the buffs I most frequently combo unless someone in group buffs higher.

It isn't a "low-level spell,"  you just get it at a low level.  It scales and always cons white and is never outleveled SMILEY

Good point Seeko .. I guess I never noticed that it still con'ed white; however, it seems out of proportion to have an even con "white" level 49 spell give +100 health, and +141 mana.  It seems low imo.

  1. Mark of the Mismic
  2. Teachings of the Dead
  3. Magi's Shielding
  4. Unholy Covenant
Found if I cast Mark before Teachings I get a few extra STA. --- Salvia - 41 Necro - Highkeep

You can stop using Gift of the Magi at 31.  It's gray by that point and does nothing.  Check your stats before casting and after casting, no difference.  On that point, you can stop using any buff when they turn gray.  If a buff is gray, it stops doing anything. (It would be nice if it just worked at its already inferior level, that way you could group with others and still use buffs that don't overlap.) You never really have a choice of what to fill the concentration slots with, aside from Magi Shielding (always white), you will only ever have 3 non-gray buffs available.

Hurmm... doesn't Favor of the Fallen overwrite Gift of the Magi anyway? They're on the same spell line I think. That may be why it seems like gift doesn't give any benefits past 31, Favor is better than it in every way by then. Try casting Gift with no other buffs, it should still give you the same buff as when it capped out. I think.
