Just chose Unsar's Soothing Runes as the specialized training skill upgrade to Cure Arcane.  It was a no-brainer when I read the skill description, a cure arcane for the whole group.  Woot!  I had previously selected the buff specialized training, but since I no longer use the buff at lvl 41 and still use Cure Arcane, this looks like a godsend.
 
However, just curious if anyone had used this prior.  Examining the skill reveals it dispells up to 81 levels of mental spells on a group.  What exactly does 81 levels mean?  If lvl 20 spell is cast on all group members, will Unsar's soothing runes be able to remove it from the entire group, or does a lvl 20 impairment on the group equal 120 spell levels?   I'm going to test this soon as I can, but curious if anyone has any insight in the meantime.

Pretty sure that 100 levels is per person ( 100 levels is what it cures at 50 before you get confused), not entirely sure what it means though =)

Thanks for the info on this upgrade , I chose it today after the patch (since you can reset your training) and love it . While hunting mainly in Lavastorm and the Obelisk of lost souls in my late 30's to early/mid 40's I was using the single target cure arcane all the time since many of the mobs in these zones use arcane spells on the tank and sometimes group(mainly in Lava). Today i hunted in Lava with the new spell upgrade and we were fighting level 45-47 mobs and it worked every single time.

ohh yeah and if your hunting in obelisk make sure your tank is not wearing the obedance collar from the RE quest. It gives -400 somethin to mental and in Obelisk a tank wearing one will have anywhere from 3-5 arcance spells on them at once.

Quick follow-up,
 
This spell is great for removing mental affects on your group.  But HOLY AGRO!   You want to see your tank's taunt their lil hearts out to no affect?  If so, try using this once, maybe twice.

This spell is indeed bugged.  I cast it once and the tank couldn't get aggro off me for the entire match, and he had annoying demeanor on him too.

I had this spell originally, and during the reset went with the shielding buff instead. As far as I'm concerned, this spell was a instant death sentence. Don't cast is unless you are ready to tank every single mob in the encounter for the rest of the fight.  In all fairness, I only cast this spell about 10 times from levels 15-35, but in every single instance ALL the mobs came straight for me and could not be taunted off. Maybe if you were fighting a single big nasty mob it would help the group, but just prepare for a combat rez shortly afterwards.

I have never actually casted this spell in order to cure effects. I used to use it as a taunt in EF when I was fighting tundra terrors what i would do is let a tank take a few mobs without stiffling/power draining. Then i would tell the tank this is how a man tanks and I would pull one with a pow drain cast Unsar's Soothing Runes to keep agro and keep it pow drained/stiffled and stunned as much as i could and sometimes i ended up takin less dmg then the tank did. It was fun to play around with. I dont know how that would work now with the increase in mobs hits and the nerf of the bards stat buffs.

yeah that spell can certainly be instant death no matter how many taunts your tank has used or will use SMILEY  after the first chance to reselct I chose that one and I got all excited when I saw one of those spells cast on the group that put an arcane effect on everyone and next thing you know it was total chaos.  Although I used the training spell for Terrible Awe and it really seems like that reduced hate works SMILEY

I chose this as my training ability the second time around (first time around I chose the buff).  I think I'm glad I chose this the second time around.  At level 41, I've yet to pull agro using this spell although I have used it sparingly knowing that it does pull significant agro so I make sure not to use it immediately.

No doubt the agro on this spell is dangerous.  But its a situational spell with long term use.  If I use it early on in a fight, I'll pull all the agro.  But thus far, the mental affects on a group don't need to be dispelled immediately, rather wait until the tank/dps have good agro, and then middle of the fight you can safely use this spell.
 
I'm not sure its a life-saver in the end-game, but it sure looks like it has good potential.  Just gotta use it the right way.
