![]() Ok, with a 58 Conjuror under my belt, I thought I would see how an illusionist fared. While I was not expecting my personae to be a earth pet tanking, or a DPS air pet or even a caster fire pet, I have been pleasantely surprised at its performance. But I have a few issues that I cant seem to get around. I usually have my pet engage a group of mobs, expecting to mez the rest of the group and work them down. This works 50% of the time. The other 50% the pet seems to be throwing single target dots around like mad and I cant get a mez to stick. When I target the additional mobs that I didnt put the pet on, I see the red icon, not an ae icon. I have tried this with the pet in different protect modes etc. The only way I have been moderately successful is if I ae mez the pack, sic the pet and then cycle the longer mez on the rest. Seems cumbersome. Thats soloing. Grouping is another matter though similar. With the pet not set to protect, it will still engage target mobs IF they have hit me or the pet at anytime during the encounter. Even after I have backed the pet off, assisted the MT and then engaged the pet. Pet breaks mez consistently. Drives me crazy. My conjuror pets were better behaved than this. What is the solution?

![]() The Personae Spells (whatever they are called) are equivalent to the following: Binding Light (root, also stifled until damage taken) Uncertainty (stun+mana drain) Bewildering Cascade (Short AoE stun with no aggro) Ego Shock (DD+root) Mind Drain (stifle+mana drain) Phantasmal Ray (low DD nuke) It shouldnt be casting anything else. So really ur best choise is what u said about AE mezzing the pack. And yes, it is cumbersome =)

Yep, no dots in the arsenal anymore, unless you count his sporadic meleeing! His AEs also are non-damaging, so I don't think that's the problem. Some possible causes:

![]() Well, after some more testing, the icon I see is the Ego Shock/Psychic Assaillant. Thats what it looks like. In either case, if I put a mez on top of it, it is canceled rather quickly and never lasts the standard mez duration. It behaves like its a DoT. The switching of targets is what annoys me the most, if it didnt do that, I wouldnt have to worry about it landing anything before I do. |

![]() Your 3rd point I thought of, and tried. As a former/rehabilitated conjuror, I thought of that rather quickly, but like I said in the OP, it will switch IF it got hit anytime during the encounter, or IF I got hit. |

![]() i just tried it out to see what might be happening, and couldnt figure it out. id start a fight with the protect me/yourself options already off, then mezz, then send the pet on one. id then let the mezz break, let the mobs hit me, then remezz them. after that first mob died, the pet would just return to me as if nothing happened. maybe (just maybe) ur UI might be bugged. if ur using a custom pet window, try going back to the original one. if ur not, try deleting the pet window file in the default UI and let the updater download it again. hell, if u got the patience just delete ur entire UI and itll dload again. im not sure that this is ur problem, but it might be a possibility.

![]() my pet never switches target unless i tell it to and it never breakes mez unless i havent disabled protect. and even with protect it will usually finish of the one mob first that i sent it to attack before. so my guess is either you are bugged or you are pressing pet attack by accident while having targeted a mezed mob.

Yep, Never had that problem before.Send the pet in, AE mez behind him. I might over write that with single target mez's depending on the mobs, how long it will take me to kill them, etc.My pet never switches, and when his is dead he returns to my side. The only that that I wish was that I could set the default protections on my pet instead of having to remember to turn it off when I log in, zone, etc.

Never had any issues with my pet besides the fact hes just plain stupid.Me: Pet_01 go attack %tPet_01: You got it bossPet_01 gets as close as possible to %tPet_01 casts root on %t and proceeds to take a beating from %t.Pet_01 starts nukingPet_01 notices root wore off so proceeds to recast it.Other than that hes fine
