![]() So far I've been very successful in PVP, with stifles and roots. Thought it would just post some ideas and get the ball rolling, see what all we can come up with. First of all its a great idea to start the duel with Capture Mind, since its uninteruptable. The worst thing that can happen to us is if someone else stifles us first. This should take care of it. Once they are mezzed you are free to throw passive spells at them, and when you are ready, cast Prismatic Strife on your personae, the stifle/root on the enemy, and summon your construct and order the personae to attack also. As the break mezz, either cast drain will (for the stifle) or color shower for the stifle and dps. If I'm not mistaken, Prismatic Strife and Color Shower seem to be the most effective DPS spells we have now. Scorching beam isn't bad, especially with dynamism... but we have to babysit SB and chain cast, so we can't cast other spells quite as often. I'm using SB as a sort of a filler spell, if I have a few seconds before I can cast something else, then I will throw it in. So far I have no problem at all with mages or priests, they just can't do enough when they get chain stifled. Scouts and fighters pose more of a threat, becuase they can interupt and stun quite a bit, so your root spell is going to be key, even if you can't keep them away from you all the time. Keep them rooted, color showered, and annoy them with pets. Maybe you should toss in Aneursym if you think you need an interupt because a stifle dropped, but be sure to chain cast drain will as often as possible. Also, if you wear defensive gear, which I do, you can take a ice comet or harm touch without getting one-shotted. These skills usually take me down to around 10-20% health, and I'm not changing my gear to specific resists. We got a nice WIS buff, so I'm sure thats helping ![]() And the arena... my guild did a 6 on 6, and we are ridiculously powerful and annoying. Keep mezzing ![]() ![]() Message Edited by ScamprinSlippy on 09-16-2005 09:46 AM |

![]() Capture mind straight off, then keep them rooted and do mez nuke until stun refreshes then do and HO during the stun. Once Mezed they are dead, just never let them wake up.

Was dueling my wizard friend again last night, he invised right before the duel started, which made him disappear from my targetting. Once he got the drop on me with a stun it was pretty much over. I'm thinking next time I will have see invis up, along with invising right before the duel starts. Then I can get the first cast in on him, drop my invis/see invis while putting up dynamism and maybe the dopple.

OMG this might be how you beat a Necro. I think it might work. If he cannot see you he cannot target so we can get our mez off first, before he fears.

Well... don't all mages get see-invis? I know I've kept mine up while dueling so that nobody could do that to me.

![]() I always invis/see invis before it starts...once you get spellshield it isnt necissary against casters. Btw, against most mages that are worth a [expletive ninja'd by Faarbot] in dueling you will probably die if you cast capture mind first. :smileywink:

How so? Even if you are feared or stunned it mezzes them, there stuns are far shorter than the mez so no matter what you regain initiative.

Just a suggestion, but I didn't try (will not anyway). Cast group illusion : gnoll at the start of an arena fight.

When you use Dispel magic it only dispels some buffs mostly mage shield to lower there health and mitigration to attacks.

Root first, mezz takes longer. Root stifles too. After rooting mezz, buff you int with fleeting spell and stifle, dot nuke. Put stun in the mix. I beat necro, even after he feared me first, but useing AoE mezz, and killing him as fast as possible. Still got me into red, so it was close. Invis sounds like a dandy idea, but what if they where the eye patch?

![]() The invis idea probably is the safest bet, then follow it up with stunning array (1 second cast and stuns him and his pet if he has one) then mez.
