I am taking a look at the revised Health numbers for the personae. However, I was watching a tester in normal handcrafted/treasured gear and appIV/Adept I spells absolutely pillage things with the personae. The fact that it had several powerful control spells (a 10s stun, a 3s stun, a 16s stifle) as well as significant damage spells; and, the old Magi's Shield (damage absorbing rune)... made it an extremely powerful pet.

It sounds like the Health should be raised back to the previous levels, but the DPS/Control reduction is definitely in to stay.

Edit---
To clarify "pillage things", he was defeating double-up even con (white) opponents with 90% health and 25% power in handcrafted/treasured gear and Apprentice III-Adept I spells. In that kind of gear, he should have significant trouble with double ups of an even con.

I'm wondering if he was watching someone using that bugged spell we had that was processing 100% instead of 10% or whatever?  I mean, were you really "pillaging" mobs without using that one bugged spell.  It would really stink if he didn't realize that was what was going on and nerfed the whole class as a result.

LOL...Illusionist and overpowered in the same sentence.  That is rich.  Even with the meager DPS increase we had...we were no where near the rivals of wizzy/warlock.  So if that made us overpowered, what about them?

i'm not saying that illusionist or warlocks are/were overpowered, but sorcerors recently recieved a big nerf also.  Their damage has an enormous range now.  Their max damage for a spell was increased, but their minimum damage was vastly decreased... so their DPS is very unstable, and it will be hard for them to gauge agro.

He didn't mention when or where he was watching this, so it's hard to say.  It's possible that he was watching someone with the 100% procing Dynamism + the beasty Psychotic Spectrum, or it could have just been this weekend.

I was buffed to 60 after my first day on beta, so I didn't spend a whole lot of time fighting even con mobs solo.  I was able to beat ^^^ heroic mobs 10 levels below me with 60-70% success rate or so, but it wasn't easy and my doppel was dead by the time I had the mob down to 20% or so every time.

I have only ever had an App1 pet, so maybe the adept 1 or higher versions are really a lot better.

I was beta buffed to 57th and shopped at the raid vendors.  Even after Dyanmism got nerfed to 20% or whatever and still running on an app1 personae, I easily killed green 3up heroics and could manage blue 3ups with some doing.  As far as soloing went, we were above the norm they wanted.  The main things that allowed us to do that were our pets.

Now I can only solo things that I can kill while my stuns/stifles hold.  I think they just went to the opposite extreme.  They basically obliterated our pet into a group situation where there's no good reason to spend 3 concentration on it.  I mean, it still helps soloing I suppose, if it happens to stun or stifle at the right time.  But you can't let it get a good bit of aggro because it will die.  I'm really more upset about our construct though.  I thought we had something good going there for awhile.

They took a really neat idea and squished it into near uselessness.  Well here's to waiting another 8 months with promises of getting brought into line.  Cheers

Our pet's HPs have been raised.

However, they made this change after the beta server was taken down so we have yet to see what it will be like.

The pet is good right now for soloing with the increased hps.  I havent watched other classes solo so im not sure where we fall.
I find it much easier to solo now.  Dare I say I'm content with the way things are now lest we be retuned again.

Aoe hos not breaking mez is really nice.  Long lasting mez is nice.  Pet can do its job to solo.  Int is meaningful now.
Aoe mez not mezzing self is nice.  Dynamism is really nice.

If you havent tried things on test or beta I think you will be happy with how illusionist function now.
