![]() Yea, I suppose I should have mentioned in those posts how I felt out our single target nukes. I've been calling for, at the very least, doubling of their damage across the board since I started playing on beta. I still don't see how us nuking for 600-800 is in anyway overpowering.

![]() Sorry, all I can say is Nay :smileysad: Throught my levelling, I have to admit that as much as I love casting mezz, if I was honest, most times it was probably unnecessary. In fact, once the tanks I have grouped with managed to get their ebon armour, they would often send me messages telling me not to mezz, yes, even in groups of several heroics (in Permafrost and CT) as people were using aoe spells and that the incomming damage was not a problem. A minor adjustment to how mezzes are now in live and boosting dps/soloing capability is what I always wanted for the class changes, not a boost to CC that we didn't reallly need. The nerf to psychotic spectrum has to be the most disappointing thing I have read in the rollercoaster of Illusionist changes, since that spell alone would have more than doubled our current dps. I too thought that reading this Dev post: Damage spell inconsistency - Examining the inconsistent amounts in regards to single-target damage spells versus AoE damage spells. would mean that our nukes would be raised in effectiveness not the other way round. I'm not a hardcore player, and i recently upgraded Psychotic Spectrum to Adept 3 in anticipation. Looking at it now, it is barely more effective than my live level 30 training spell Esdia's Chromatic Clash!!! Unfortunately, it seems that at this late stage, the Devs are playing the popularity game, making U-turns all over the place based on opinion. I just wish people would have listened to Count Drakenkorin and other players on beta about the advantages that the boost in DPS gave. The list of mezzes we have now is plain overkill. With the lengthy duration of the AOE mezz (and no self-mezzing) and shorter recast of single mezzes, we could have carried out CC aptly with just the one mezz (which our Coercer brethren are rightly sniggering about on their boards :smileywink Now that the enchanter sub-classes are being further differentiated into a mezz-specialist and a power regen specialist, I can guess which will become the more desired class. I'm hoping Spellshield lives up to its expectations to help us out in group/raid desirability. I would be grateful if Count Drakenkorin or another Beta tester could post an updated DPS estimate since the last numbers being estimated were 300-350dps. I would imagine that we are now around the 200dps mark if we are lucky. |

![]() Heh, I wish people would listen to the beta testers also like Kaisa and Count Drakenkoria. Im still having problems wrapping my mind around the changes they have put it, its mind boggling. Oh well, I guess i'll have to get used to it since the expansion drops the 13th, not. Oh and Kaisa I'm not mad at you, I know you meant well:smileyhappy:, leave it to the Devs to take a simple statement about the DPS of our single target nukes not being inline with our AoEs, and totally screwing it up. If either you (meaning Kaisa) or Count Drakenkoria have time to do some DPS numbers the way things are now, that would be very helpful to see where we stand as a whole:smileytongue:. Thanks! ![]() Well mes is critical to small group gameplay so I'm very heartened to see them restored to their previous glory. Now just need to put group invis back to something that resembles it's former self... Toepeg 50 Illisionist of Oggok |

![]() I don't do any parses, but I'm gonna take some more screenshots of our damage spells with the recent changes and post them tonight. Whether or not that will tell you anything, I dunno

![]() You'll have to wait for Kaisa to see the full affect of INT on our damage spells... but here they are for now. These are as of right now

![]() which would mean atm upgrading from app 1 to adept 1 will increase damage by ~ 37%. upgrading from 46 INT to 341 INT will increase by another ~34%.
or with other words: a spell cast at adept 1 and 341 INT will do roughly 83% more damage than a spell cast at apprentice 1 and only 46 INT. so if examine a spell at apprentice 1 and low INT that shows 100 damage, when upgrade would do 180 damage. if upgrade to adept 3 or master and according INT would more than double the damage.
our main nuke Scorching Beam with upgrade to adept 1 and good INT is going to do 250-340 damage for 60 power. Psychotic Spectrum now will do 75-93 x4 = 300-372 per target for 140 power.
summary: our AE got brought in line with our single nuke. its doing about same damage for higher power cost, so it no longer is more power efficient to use our AE on single target. could also just say: both sux now ....which was obvious anyways. :smileytongue: |
