![]() Anyone post any information on the damage out the level 48 - 50 spells ? We need something posotive to look forward to !!!! Come on you Level 50 Wizards and masters of the Arcane arts, you know you want to brag about it !!!! |

![]() There's nothing to brag about. Haven't you been reading the posts? Ice Comet has an 18 second timer and does 1200 damage on a fully debuffed mob at adept 1 if you do full damage. The chances of that are about 1 in 5. |

![]() Yikes !!!!! That sucks !!!! What about the other spelss 48 to 50 ? or do we only really have levels upto 30 to look forward to then it all goes pear shaped ?

![]() Well, at 37 we get Ball of Flames. They should probably renamed it to Ball of Tiny Spark since it doesn't outdamage Ball of Fire till about level 44 and even then by a small margin. At 39 we get Immolation. I hesitate to call it an upgrade to Breath of Tyrant, but it's on the same timer and is a higher level spell that does less damage. At level 49 there is Fiery pulse. A replacment for plasmatic pulse which also does very little damage as well. But if you believe the some of the dolts around here then Wizards are perfectly balanced. It is very sad. The Wizard was a fun character to play till the mid 30's. Now there is just no point. I don't even bother looking at the new spells I get since they were obviously not meant to be upgrades.

1200 at aap1? only 1 in 5 chances fo full damage? Oh dear. Please, oh Please tell me how we are even going to beable to match ANY melee? The hites magical damage is 4,969 from an assassin. How was that character able to get such a high damage hit? I understand that the combat abilities are really coded like spells, which is why it's the highest magical hit, which is wrong. But even doubleing the damge of ice comet, 2400 at app1? Sure, App3 and 4 will be available in tiem once you reach 50, but you KNOW that even adept 1 is gonna be an uber rare drop, and forget about master 1. I predict there will be one only drop of Ice Comet Master 1 in the whole game over all the servers.Please, if one melee class, that doesn't even really do magic can reach just shy of 5k damage in one hit, then why can't those people that really use magic get this close? Of course this won't be answered by Sony. And saddly I bet thier idea of balancing will be to nerf the assisin class, which will cause them to blame us for the nerf.Come on Sony, talk to us! More then just me have been sitting her wondering what the heck is going on with things.

Talking about the damage done by one hit on a 1-hr time skill and most likely using a very rare HO isn't too relevant to our issues. Similarly, 1 spell shouldn't define the (current) end game for our class. I'd like to see more spells doing appropriate damage to mobs. I'd like the ability to choose an intelligent attack -- say water/ice against some fire creature as opposed to BoF. When these sorts of issues are resolved I think people will be happier and the game a bit more interesting.

It is relavent. Because we have no idea under what circumstances such a hit was made. And for that matter, they list highest melee and magical hit. Why does a melee class be listed as highest magical hit?Whats the highest you can get for a HO damage? x2, x4? Even at x4 that means the assassins base damage was around 1250, to be just under 5k. Because i don't see anything in any write up about HO's that says, doubles triples or quadruples a players damage or attack from abilitieis.However assasines do get at level 50 the ability to and I'm quoting from Sony's site "Assassinate is a lethal ambush attack that can kill weaker enemies outright." So if an assassine hits a low level mob that only has around 5k hitpoints, and kills it with one hit, of course they are going to get the highest magical hit in the game, even though the mob was most likely half his level and grey to him.I looked at assassine skills after I read your reply not before, to see how much an assassine might be hitting for.

![]() App II maxes at 900 damage. The 30+ spells are not scaled properly, nor do the increases from app 2 to adept 1 or adept 3 give proper improvments. Ball of Fire went from 200 at app 1 to 400 at adept 1 at level 23 for example.

![]() Those high damage magic hits are from the rare long ordered HO that the scout finishes. They dish out a lot of damage but it's the rare HO and it requires following a specific sequence. |

I went through several sites showing the HO chains (and the offical Prinaguide for EQ2). The best ones don't give specifics on the amount of damage, just descriptions, like delivers a large amount of crushing damage. And for these HOs to work, they require coordination from all 4 archtypes. While scout initiated, it takes teamwork (which is the idea behind HOs) to get the desired effect. Personally, for one person to get the credit for a team based effort, stinks. Just like I got a world first item discovered by wining an item drop no one could use (Master spell). It was just luck, because it took all of us to kill the mob. So now I'm the highest discover for my guild, because I've got one world wide, two server wide. Of the server wide, I was the first to once again win an item it took a group to kill and one cause I was the first to make something as a trade skill. It was a low level item. I guess no one ever stopped at that level for the item.So if a single person gets credit for a team effort, then I say that is wrong, and HOs shouldn't get credited for that.Please inform us of which HO it was.
