I was in Lyceum tonight and got feared at the first named. I have the AA line all filled out including the 8 that goes into immunity to fear. Any ideas or suggestions? Any one else getting feared there or anywhere else?

I would think immunity is just that...immunity.

I've been charmed there, but not feared.

Could it have been charm then? I know that one of the raiders took a potion that provides a limited immunity to fear and they were able to avoid being "feared". I have been charmed before and usually attack fellow raid mates. In this encounter you just walk around unable to control your movements.

Some mobs debuff.  You could have died and forgot to recast.  Unless someone can post a screenie of being feared while the buff is up then it will be difficult to get Dev's attention.  I had this buff for two months and was never feared.  (Before respec to something useful)

I noticed this yesterday in Lyceum.  When I went in the room to pull like I normally do I got feared even though the buff was up.  I had the immune thing flash over my head, but it put the screaming guy in my buff window and I started walking slowly in a different direction.

Was there any type of message indicating that it you were feared?  Something in the log that could be used as evidence?

Great responses...although it is possible that I had forgot to cast it (nothing like doubting yourself), I could have sworn that I had it on. To eliminate that possibility I will hit Lyceum again on Monday and make sure that it is indeed up. I will do screenshots/logs if indeed it is not working.

I hope I forgot to cast, that would be the most easily fixed solution :smileywink:

You probably had it up , you are not the first one to experience this. Good thing is that since the instance was opened it has only happened one time to me and zero for others so chance it will happen again is slim.

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in here, but were you by any chance mentoring before you went to raid? And if so, did you forget to rebuff that buff, if so, it might go down quite a bit in levels, allowing higher level mobs to be able to fear you. Think of it where you try to kill Nagafen and he has a fear, ofcourse he would have a 100% chance to fear you, being 30 levels higher than you.

As far as Fearless, it has worked great for me in all T7 raid zones. Only one I've had problems with is Divine Aura in Courts, where Sunchild just breaks right through that, where the game gives me the "Failed to avoid attack." message.

[expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]?  what does divine aura have to do w/ fear?  and sunchild breaks through it b/c she is hitting for more than 50% of your health.

Hehe, Sunchild hitting me for 50% of my health, that's too funny. I'm at 5k phys mit and  80% magic mit on all but mental (4000k) solo buffed along with 7.5k hp and never fall below yellow against him. No way he would be hitting me for over 50% each hit. All I get is the "Failed to avoid attack." message the 10 seconds I have it on for. So I would say there is something wrong with it.

And as far what it has to do with fearless, nothing, but I guess you didn't read the rest of my post where I talked about nothing but fearless.

Mentoring would not affect the fear immunity buff.  It only has one level, so it cannot be reduced, and even if it were, it would still be "grants immunity to fear."  The other wisdom line buffs are reduced to 1 rank (apprentice 1, like all other buffs), and they have numbers that can be reduced, but what the buffs do is never changed.  Granted, there could be another bug with mentoring, and buffs in general can be weird.  Once, the server crashed while I was in a raid instance, and when I logged back in, I had a +dps mod, presumably from some buff on the raid, until the next time I died, maybe two days later.

Yup, I remember once I was asking guildies if somehow fighter/crusaders got a dps mod boost, because I logged in and had like a 65% DPS Mod or something like that. That was probably the Coercer's buffs that was in my group from the raid now that I think about it. I never actually checked if it worked but it did end up going away after a while. As far as the mentoring buffs, ya, I still feel it should auto adjust based on level rather than having to rebuff everything everytime we unmentor, but I can't complain too much because I really like the new mentoring system compared to the one where you had to goto your spell list and find your old spells, especially considering that I am on 27 masters and 7 adept 3s.

A couple things I did notice, was first when I changed AAs at one point to try new things, I had to relog a couple times for the new AAs to go into effect. For instance the Haste mod didn't show up until after I relogged a couple times. Also changing gear to look at stats / mit messed something up, where I ended up missing stats when I put my regular gear back. I had to unequipt everything and re-equipt it for the stats to go back.
