If played properly paladins do very well in pvp.  You just need to know what strategys is needed for the oposing class. Just remember the basics, chain stun casters, ward till mellee is oop, and just try to outlast healers. Dont let people get behind ya and consecrate is your friend in duels.  thats what i see as the basics and certin classes are more involved when fighting but hopfully this will help ya out. Only major pain is now the pets can taunt us off of their masters which can be rather annoying, theyre still easy but if you fight a good summoner i can see them being trouble.  As far as SKs go, dont fear the HT and dont let your health get below 50% just yestarday i beat a 60 SK who was fabled out with godking weap and i destroyed him with my cobalt gear chain stunning seemed to work.  All in All we can fair well after you get some practice, tho im going necro on PvP for a change.

Yeah its all about how you play your class.  Depending on what class you are fighting you prepare accordingly, it also depends on your strengths and weaknesses seeing as pallies can be so diverse in their setup.  personally i look first at my opponent, if it is a wizard i know i have to burn them in offensive before they can do anything.  stuns are my favorite attribute to the pally fighting style, also remember the aoe stun that we have, it is a fast casting stun that i sometimes use to begin a duel.  If i fight a zerker, its all about how they are geared up as to how i prepare, if they are fabled to the teeth, then i go defensive and ward like a sumbitch.  Wards are best if they are done right after a stun.  etc.  I have different gear for different occasions, like 3 sets of fabled gloves, one with more mit, one with hp regen and one with flowing thought... same goes for a lot of my other gear, (i have like 8+ weapons).

anyway u get the idea, i hope i've helped

Best advice about PvPPlay in Defensive stance - that +WIS is worth so much more than whatever additional damage you may do - especially  when you see all those "resisted" flags poping above you. You'll infuriate casters no end.
